The only reason I know anything about this is because Ira Steven Behr of TNG and DS9 signed up for the series after seeing the pilot. So it may not be so bland.
I don't know if I'd even call it a superhero show though. It comes across as more of a mystery or thriller, where the characters just happen to have superhuman abilities, than a real superhero show.So...So far, it seems like Mission Impossible with Meta-humans, instead of regular Spies. I think it was very well done for what it was, for a Pilot, I have nothing to complain about, and Ep 2 brings new Producers, so it may get even better.
I'm not sure I'm in the market to invest in a Superheroes without costumes show right now, Heroes, pretty well burned me out, but, this one is well done so far, and may yet drag me in if it gets even better.
Anyone who's in the market for this kinda show, I vouch for it.
Syfy's Alphas started off strong, grabbing 2.5 million viewers for its Monday series premiere, earning the title of SyFy's Biggest Debut Since 2009. [Syfy via press release]
Fair enough if the word Superhero doesn't work for you, my post can be changed to Super (or Meta-) Humans without costumes, if you likeI don't know if I'd even call it a superhero show though. That's how I saw it miniHulk did nothing much more then kick a doors and every other cop does that or if the show is adventurous they have a SWAT officer hit the door with a battering ram so the detective can go in first. The internet guy could have been Eric of NCIS LA or Kono of Hawaii 5-0 in a van with the TV copland superduper computer. Supersense girl could have been any CSI with their pocket flashlights. Bullseye was the standard ex SEAL/Ranger/Scout-Sniper/Force Recon veteran. Which leaves us with the pusher, similar to conning your way in that as has been done from Maverick to Rockford down to the girl on Leverage and the short cons the "deep cover" LA NCIS team pullsI don't know if I'd even call it a superhero show though. Dr Rosen's reassurance that he would "protect" Hicks(?) didn't reassure me. A sinister edge to it. I know, intended--and nicely contrasting with his touchy-feely style.
I'll watch. I'm hopefully it'll be better than a cheap Heroes retread.
Any speculation as to what the siren chick's limitation is? She mentioned she had one, but I don't recall it ever actually coming into play. I imagine it's more than eye contact (especially since we saw her initiate it without eye contact on the Luke Cage wannabe).
Based on what little I know, I'm guessing Vancouver.I also got the impression that even though it's set in NYC, they filmed in LA or Vancouver

To me, the reason for that seemed to be because he had some headphones in and didn't hear her clearly. Instead of wasting time trying to 'charm' him, she just went with the guy she already charmed because it would be faster, not because this guy was immune.she couldn't do it on that one hotel security guy
