Archie Comics' Sexual Harassment Scandal

Archie Comics Bigshot -- Accused of 'Penis' Taunting
  • The female co-CEO of Archie Comics is accused of going on a phallic outburst in the office recently ... allegedly pointing at employees and shouting "PENIS, PENIS, PENIS, PENIS."

Archie Comics Publications has filed legal papers against co-CEO Nancy Silberkleit -- claiming she has a history of bullying and sexually harassing employees ... and she must be stopped!

According to the lawsuit, filed yesterday in NY, several employees have lodged complaints about Nancy's "offensive" behavior ... including one time in 2009, when she barged into a meeting and "pointed to each [attendee] and said, 'PENIS, PENIS, PENIS, PENIS' and then walked out."

Nancy allegedly pulled the same "penis" stunt again in 2010 -- but this time she also screamed out, "My balls hurt."

Archie Comics claims it hired an outside firm to investigate the allegations -- and the company recommended Archie cut ties with Nancy ASAP.

Now, Archie wants a judge to grant an injunction -- barring Nancy from returning to the office ... and preventing her from representing the company at the upcoming Comic-Con in San Diego.

Kind of ironic that this happened at the home of possibly the most asexual comic book line in history and the comic founded by the man largely responsible for the comics code authority.

I'm tempted to make a "family values hypocrisy" comment but since the harasser isn't one of the Goldwater family I guess that wouldn't really be fair.

I'm also tempted to defend this lady by suggesting all she was doing was suggesting some dialogue for the new gay character but that wouldn't be fair either. ;)

That is a very strange story, of which we are obviously only receiving an incomplete portion. And I have been enjoying Archie comics so much more the past couple of years.

I'm thinking a picture of a hand with the pointing finger extended and the words "Penis, Penis, Penis, Penis!"
would make a great t-shirt!
Then the back could say "I'm outta here!"

Yep, that's what I'm gonna do, I'm making a t-shirt! Bye!

My four year old daughter used to run around screaming "Penis, penis, penis!" It must be a female thing. I gotta go now, my balls hurt.

I wouldn't say Archie comics were totally asexual. Betty or Veronica, anyone?

My vote's always been Betty. :)

What the fucking fuck?

Sounds like there might be a drinking or drug-abuse scandal lurking somewhere behind this sexual-harrassment scandal.

Or it's a common sense of humor amongst women of a certain mindset. Women get away with that behavior all the time. I know at least two women who behave that way, even at work when relaxed around familiar coworkers who "get it."

Just some guys being douchebags by blowing it out of proportion. 'Course, I feel the same way about most "sexual harassment" charges. Or most lawsuits for that matter, particularly in America.

It's what happens when you let lawyers manipulate the legal system into a business over the decades.

She sounds like an idiot. I wonder how quickly a male CEO would have been fired had he pointed at women yelling "Vagina. Vagina. Vagina. Vagina."

I'm imagining these events drawn by Dan DeCarlo. Archie Comics should really consider a Max line.

Actually, DeCarlo did a certain amount of work for "men's" magazines back in the day so it's not that hard to picture.
