Your latest purchases, cont.

I got my father the complete Sopranos on DVD for Father's Day.

I bought several dolls for myself so I can make TOS costumes for them.

How come every time you post pictures of your footwear, I'm like; "wow -those look good"?

^ Because you have impeccable taste? :D

Thanks!

Are those 2TB disks 2.5" or 3.5"? I'm always looking for portable drives that are USB powered.

You must show us the finished thing(s) -just the idea of using ^those for that purpose is brilliant :bolian:
Reminiscent, though, of the fashions seen in Terry Gilliams Brazil:

Won't argue with that!

No: thank you!

I bought a "DiskStation" some weeks ago, four (max 3 TB) 3,5" HDDs fit into the device this one is the third time I install yet another new drive (@ ~ ½ the price I opted for a 2 TB rather than a 3 TB drive, of course).

Hmmm, not knowing what you need portable drives for I suggest that you get a device not entirely unlike the one I linked to (a review of), that way your data from home can be accessed on-line from anywhere you are.

I remember that remarkable piece of machinery you got! I'm looking for something portable and as big as it gets (TB-wise), basically, so unfortunately I can't buy that Diskstation. :borg:

For now the best I can find in shops, in the 2.5" USB powered range, are 1TB HDDs. I guess I'll have to wait for something bigger than that. Thanks for the info anyway! :)

As per my friend's instructions, I bought myself this suit. I am standing up in his wedding, and instead of renting tuxedos, he has decided that we all just going to wear matching suits that we can keep.

A suit that fits is always a much better idea than a rented garment.

Besides, I've never really liked the American habit of wearing dinner jackets to daytime weddings. Looks weird, frankly. If you're going wear a formal item of clothing during the day, pick one that's actually meant to be worn in the daytime. If it's an evening wedding (which is weird to me also, but that's another story), dinner jackets are fine. Anyway, just my little bugbear.

So yeah, wearing a suit to a daytime wedding is a good idea. But don't get me started on my views about matching suits for the wedding party... ;)

Have fun at the wedding!

Okay--I just won something both cool and geeky on eBay.

I've wanted a chess set for a while. Finally, I settled on this.

I like the modernist styling of the pieces. And it's vintage. And it doesn't hurt that the set was called "Gothic."

But most importantly--it was used on TOS. You can see these pieces on the 3-D chessboards in a few episodes, including "Journey to Babel" and "Day of the Dove." See here for some screenshots.

Today I spent a lot more than I could actually afford to spend on nonsense:

Got myself a paper shredder (Which really is redundant as I live with a cat), a couple of Terry Pratchett's, rechargeable elements (for some 'Chinese lanterns', I bought a couple of years ago and never used more than twice -as they are quite power-hungry) and a soup mug:

TOS communicator app for my phone. The sound effects and image replication are amazing - absolutely delighted with it! I don't know why I didn't think to look for this before. And it is complete with flick open and closed action! :D
