I'm still running an intermittent low-grade fever, but it's getting lower and less frequent. The fluid that the wound vac is suctioning looks much healthier than it did before last week's surgery, and there seems to be less of it (I'm not having to change the canister as often). And yesterday I went to a short church service (vespers) and then to dinner -- ended up feeling totally exhausted but otherwise fine.

Yeah, it's not a matter of greed or trying to get something for nothing. You were harmed by what seems to be negligence, and there are costs to that. You shouldn't have to bear those costs.
I'm not an attorney, but I'm guessing since it's something that you had no control at all over, it might not be that bad an experience. It's not like they're going to get you on the stand and accuse you of spontaneously producing foam yourself. It was their fault, and I would hope they'd be looking to settle this as quickly and amicably as possible.

Thanks, folks. Today is day five with no fever! I guess it's time to stop counting. Things are going well in general, so I "should" be in a good mood, but I'm not. I have a long list of petty gripes, but I'll bother you all with only the main one....
I am soooo tired of my butt and legs hurting. It's rarely anything severe, usually more of an ache than anything. But it still drives me crazy. Especially since it's usually worst at night, just when I want to be relaxed enough to fall asleep. Grrr.

I am so glad to hear the fever is staying away.

I'm happy to hear that things are going well in general now. It's not really surprising that you are still in a bad mood; all of this would wear anyone down. Just keep coming here to be cheered up and you'll be fine.
Sending all the good moods I can find your way. Can you watch some funny movies on DVD? That's supposed to help. I recommend :The Gods Must be Crazy." The jeep scene will make your sides ache, so maybe not the best idea.
