Unfortunately, I have to be real careful with mysteries these days, because of my PTSD. Can't handle much violence.

Have you ever read Asimov's Black Widower or Union Club mystery collections? No violence there at all.

I had no idea he wrote mysteries! I'll definitely look into them.

I second this. I remember racing to the bookstores to buy Asimov's latest Black Widower or Union Club books. He was the most remarkably versatile and prolific author EVER.

He also wrote a mystery novel called Murder At The ABA, but I'm not sure of the violence content. Probably minimal, knowing Asimov. In addition, his two Robot novels The Caves Of Steel and The Naked Sky are mysteries.

I'll add my thumbs-up to the "Black Widower" and "Union Club" mysteries. And it's been a while since I read Murder at the ABA, but I remember enjoying that one, as well. A funny note about Murder at the ABA -- Isaac Asimov lampooned himself in that novel, appearing as a genial writer attending the convention...

And though I've only been reading this thread until now, I do check back regularly to see how you're doing, Ziyal. Best wishes and prayers for your continued recovery.

You're welcome. I hope each day is a little better, and soon those "a little better's" will add up.

It amazes me how the cat can actually tackle the crow and the crow is apparently OK with that! I also think it's interesting how apparently the crow is more capable of recognizing the danger of traffic and acts to get the cat out of the road.

But then I've noticed crows are very, VERY smart. They seem to know exactly when they need to run or fly, and when it's not worth the effort. They even seem to know, watching them, that cars will not come out of their lanes and that it won't be a problem for them to eat roadkill that's on the shoulder of the road.

Thanks for reminding me to post, NG.

I've been running a low-grade fever most of the time since I was in the hospital last weekend. They said it could last a few days after I finished the antibiotic, which I did on Friday, and not to worry unless it goes over 101 and doesn't respond to Tylenol. So far it's responding well to Tylenol. But it's also obvious that I must still have the UTI. Tomorrow's project, other than seeing the plastic surgeon, is to find myself a urologist.

^Yeah, I've started taking cranberry juice extract capsules. Need to push myself tp drink more fluids, too, especially right now. It's sooooo hot here, and FFH's A/C is broken. He's on the phone as we speak, trying to get someone to come repair it.

I should probably take the "drinking fluids" advice too. I'm getting into that season where my normal low blood pressure means that I can't get away on minimal food and drink until dinner. I'm not very heat-sensitive, but I got into some pretty nasty lightheadedness today. I'm no diabetic, but low blood sugar and me do NOT get along.

So please don't repeat my mistake! Definitely get something to drink, at least.
