PSN down thread

It also seems that the free PS+ time has been added to accounts. I just checked my Services List and my subscription renewal date is now September 17th, rather than July 19th.

Just checked mine via site not got it yet, can't wait for PSN store to come back up.

I was upset that it caused me issues with my Netflix.... wonder if Netflix is going to at the next round be more insistent that if the PSN is down, that they can still serve movies to its members.

Well, there are still a few days before the end of the month, so there's still a chance it could be up before the end.

Despite my missing the new Fallout:Vegas DLC, I'm not upset by this. If Sony's taking the time to redo it all, bullet-proof it, and do it right, then I'm for taking the extra time. It's not like I'll die if

Yeah, the sense of entitlemend on the official forum and forums like GameFAQs is pretty hilarious...
As are the "Sony Fail" posts...

Yeah, exactly. I'd prefer they do it right and get it done rather than find out that they need to do something else and take it down again later. I'm not losing sleep over it. We at least have PSN back up.

For most people, Netflix worked just fine. I was able to stream Netflix onto my PS3 the entire time the network was down.

I'm doing it now.. marathonning Season 1 of Cheers, reliving the awesomness that was the 1980s.

Ditto. I had a no problem with Netflix while PSN was down. Just the small "sign-in" annoyance. lol. But Netflix worked fine overall.

I'm glad PSN is mostly back. And the Playstation Blog too. I really missed the Blog's gaming updates. Although, I must admit that even more than the PSN itself, I have missed the Playstation Store updates (and the blog entries related to the store). PSN hasn't seemed the same without the Playstation Store...

I'm looking forward to seeing the Store back. I want to download a couple of free games (Infamous & maybe LPB or one of the other games). And of course see what demos there are for download!

It'll be nice to have the complete PSN back.

Oh and I think we will see it back at the end of this month. I just can't see them going into E3 without the Playstation Store. That would look bad...

I had a Netflix problem; it depended on what version of the Netflix app. you had before PSN went down.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to that as well. And the latest patch since I heard it buggers Dead Money and often requires a re-install, which you can't do with the store down.

Tried re-watching Cheers a couple months ago. Made it to Season 2 before losing interest. It's still a good show but for some reason, it seemed better in my memory.

It drags in second season, largely 'cause the romance between Diane and Sam plateaus and they start doing random things. It's good weekly, but a bit hard to marathon after the "Are you as turned on as I am?" bit. :P

Now I'm just waiting for Frasier to appear...

^^That's not fair, i want that, i hate Sony, i deserve that as well, I'm not playing any more, I'm special....(Goes off in a huff).

And before you ask, Yes, i have just been on the official PS3 forums.

I had no idea so many PS3 owners were in the 4 to 8 age group judging by some of the comments over there..:lol:

I avoid those forums. They seem to be populated largely by idiots.

I'm assuming non-subscribers to PS+ will have to wait til the store is back to redeem their 30-day subscription.

God your not wrong there, i was trying to find out some Ps3 info the other day and found myself picking through a massive minefield of flaming and trolling the likes of which i have only ever seen on the orange and apples forum.

I think i will steer clear of it in future as I'm far too pure of heart to be reading some of the stuff over there.

Plus i loved cheers, i have not seen it since it finished all those years ago, i remember when it started over here in the UK on the new TV channel Channel 4....great show for its time.

Is the PSN down for you lot? I wonder if they prepping it for the return of my ability to buy some dam stuff off the store ;)

They're doing a wide-test of the store currently, and it's expected to be up this coming Tuesday (31 May). That can, of course, change depending on how testing goes.

Most other services for PSN are already up, though. Japan went live this last week, aside from the store, of course.
