Ziyal's Surgery Update

I hate being dependent! I hate how anxious I get when I'm alone for more than a couple hours. I am not by nature a particularly anxious person. "By nature" basically meaning prior to rape/PTSD/cancer. A friend visited this evening while my FFH was out; that helped enormously, but unfortunately it was also a rare luxury.
I'm very independent by nature as well, so I understand how you feel; but it's also good to have people you can depend on when you need them. And you will get your independence back. :)

^ Have I gone blind?

I don't know, have you? I can see it. *shrug*

Here's more cuteness for Ziyal.

Cat pictures are healing; thank you. :-)

Good point. Problem is, I don't have enough of those people for the amount of care I need. That's part of what makes me so anxious.

Here's a cute little guy. He kind of understands how you're feeling, not being 100% in shape yet. I'm sure he'd love to work his way into your heart. :)

(I like how they gave him something a lot softer and more comfortable than a normal cone. :) )

I hope you like him too. I think his suggestion would be to find one small fun thing to do, that is worth enjoying even when you're still not up to more strenuous things.

BTW--apparently Tetris has some weird, interesting (positive) effects specifically related to PTSD. Normally it applies to people who just experienced a traumatic event. But I know I find games like that very relaxing. (Tetris, Bejeweled, etc.) Whereas I do not find other types of video games relaxing and generally avoid them.

The Tetris effect: it's REEEEAL!

(I've had it with Bejeweled, too.)

Nerys Ghemor, the kitty is adorable. I love that soft collar!

Might check out Bejeweled. I haven't played that (or any other game) in years. Thanks for the suggestion.

I hear you... my best friend's mom just died and workers comp is already trying to cut funding and get her dad tossed into a home- 2 days after her mom's funeral! I'm frankly surprised that it's lasted this long, the nurses here that are supposed to come to your home were incompetent- they wandered in whenever they wanted- if they showed up at all! Bah!! Hope you're able to manage without them soon!

I'm glad you liked that. Not only was he cute--but I thought that was a much kinder and more humane solution than what you usually see, to keeping animals from aggravating their wounds.

You're welcome...certainly no promises, of course. Just a thought worth exactly what you paid for it. ;)

Thanks for checking in, guys. I had some good stuff going on, and then a setback...

Just got "home" to my FFH's house a couple hours ago after two nights back in the hospital. Had a vicious UTI. Three days of IV antibiotics, to be followed up by five days of oral antibiotics will hopefully do the trick.

God, I hated being back in the hospital!!!!!

We hate knowing that you were back in the hospital, but are happy you're doing better now. Hopefully, there will be no more setbacks, only continuous improvement. :)
