What was wrong with "These are the Voyages"

TIME TO CLOSE DOWN THE BBS.

So I re-watched Terra Prime and TATV.

Disclaimer: I'm not a big ENT fan by any stretch.

"Terra Prime" was pretty damned good. It's emotional, it's about something important to ST as a whole, Travis has stuff to say and do, and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

TATV is still a mess. But, what I did really appreciate was the character of Archer. Gone was the bumbling arrogance and uncertainty of earlier seasons, indicating to me that those may have once been intentional traits of the character, now gone due to experience and maturity. A sign of growth? Fascinating. Still should've shown at least a bit of the speech.

not if Brannon Braga was writing it - the Gazelle speech back in Saeson Two was bad enough. For the final speech, we probably would have ended up with something about Giraffes. ;)

Things I disliked about ENT:

The Gazelle speech.

The "knock you on your ass" scene.

TATV

And you know, that is pretty much ALL I disliked about ENT. So though I may enjoy my "ad nauseum" hatefest TATV threads I do adore Enterprise. It's kind of refreshing to go from constantly defending it to having a wee bash now and then when this thread rises to the top of the forum.

I think this thread just jumped the shark. But in a much cooler fashion than the Fonz. Props to ya, buddy :techman:

:wtf:

I know believing Christians who could find more things to dislike in the Bible! :rommie:

Those aren't true Christians then. And you're not a true Trekkie. But I have to endure your existence because separating the wheat from the tares is too damaging for the franchise that I love.

But the time of the harvest is coming.

You are joking, aren't you, teacake? Because this little sidebar has gone on long enough for me to start wondering, and I'm not seeing any signals (smilies or whatever) that you aren't serious.

Let's all remember that we're talking about an episode of a TV SHOW. Made-up universe. Pretend people. And in this case, a writer who has publicly admitted he miscalcuated what the reaction would be.

Bash or praise the show all you like-- heaven knows it's an ongoing cathartic exercise for some-- but please, refrain from aiming your fire, much less the wrath of God, at the people who watched it. Okay?

Ah, damn. And here I was waiting for the wheat and fire and brimstone and all that... Bloody mods. ;)

*smiley inserted to make my stance clear*

I hate the stars in TATV. They're drawn like tiny dust motes breezing past the Next Gen Enterprise in the opening shot, with no regard for the fact that stars are INSANELY HUGE and FAR AWAY. It's not "Star Trek" it's "pissy little dust mote Trek"

Nerd rage!!

Hopeful Romantic do you really think what I wrote could possibly be serious? It's dry hyperbole playing on what Gaith said. I like to play with Gaith when he expresses his shocked emoticons at my opinion. I am quite fond of him despite his obvious HERESY in the matter of Star Wars.

eh.. someday we'll be beyond the Outer Rim and we'll know the truth even about that.

And that sound! THERE IS NO SOUND IN SPACE PEOPLE.

You did have me guessing there, but it's nice to know I'm appreciated. :)

And WHAT HERESY?!? :p

And hey, if people care to found and join a TATV Rejection Society, I'm cool with that; by all means ignore it if you like - just don't pretend that ENT didn't produce any worse hours. ;) :p :)
