Star Trek 2009 = Alternate timeline. It says so right in the movie.
The "Old Trek" or Prime universe is still there. Not wiped out, not gone, still there! End of subject.
Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.
Willing to wager if you will ever see it again in a modern movie? "Prime" universe has been "overwritten" by the current universe making that one "Prime" and the old one "speculative."
Lord save us from the noobs.
I've probably been on STO much longer than you have, from open beta, far from being a noob. As for forum time comparisons, I won't go into that.
BUT, all this forum bickering has given me a new appreciation for Star Trek. I figure all us TOS people who have been left out in the cold by the genners need to now embrace the TNOS (The New Original Series) as that's likely all that will be from now on. This leaves the genners in the Trek obsolete Hell we TOS people were in. They probably won't even appreciate that we left the lights on for them.
At 1200 meters (fact proven from JJ's mouth and the Art of the Movie book) The New Enterprise can use the genners vaulted sovy as a toothpick and the galaxy as a napkin!
Using STO's tier system the Kelvin at 625 meters would be T6, the rest of the New fleet T7 and the jewel of Star Fleet The Enterprise would be T8!
Cryptic needs to get with Paramount and get with what's now in Trek instead of catering to all those old genner fogies.
