I'd love it if they kept it during WWII. This isn't 1964 - poor Steve would get such a shock if he saw America today that he'd have to be put on Prozac.

I'd love it if they kept it during WWII. This isn't 1964 - poor Steve would get such a shock if he saw America today that he'd have to be put on Prozac.

I want to see that actually. That could be hilarious. Trying to get Cap motivated to go fight.

Many moments and some storylines have dealt with this in the comics.. the infamous Civil War megaevent had this as a vital theme for Cap too in one side issue where he was "accused" of being out of touch with modern life.

I'd like that to be touched upon in his sequel if it is set in modern times though not in the Avengers movie as that is an ensemble cast and it is a personal Steve Rogers problem.

I saw the trailer with Thor and was surprised to see how skinny Chris Evans was. I wondered if it was really him before bulking up and couldn't wait to come online to see if this was the case or to see how they did it. Based on some comments here, I take it he was altered by computer? If so, that's incredible. Whatever was done, the difference between skinny and bulked up Evans is incredible actually.

Skinny Evans is pure CGI.

I thought they transplanted Evans head on another actors body. And did something else to make him look gaunt in the face.

My best friend saw the Captain America trailer with Thor and I was a little disappointed that they didn't run it at my show (did get to see the Green Lantern trailer, though). I saw Thor in IMAX 3D and he didn't, so I guess they just had a different trailer rotation in that auditorium.

I'm really looking forward to this movie.

And yeah, "skinny Evans" is the "Benjamin Button" trick.

Probably not in this movie.. best best would be him freezing and being unthawed in the present though how that will happen nobody knows. I doubt they would end the movie with him in the ice block to be found in the Avengers movie as that would be a really sad way to end a movie.

We'll see in a few weeks.

given the recent shoot in New York showed Cap with Fury in New York, no he's not being left to be thawed in Avengers. he isn't in uniform though.

It was mentioned a few weeks ago that they weren't sure if they were going to set a sequel in the present or WWII. I'm assuming if the movie ends with Cap in the present, then WWII wouldn't be an option. Although I guess there could be gaps for a sequel to fill in in The First Avenger, but to me that seems kind of unlikely.

I've wondered since the mention that should a Cap sequel happen the possibility of it being again in WWII how that would happen. Especially given that we saw A)filming with Nick Fury in Times Square and B)He has to be in modern day for Avengers.

I've wondered if there is going to be some type of montage for a passing of time after Steve is transformed. Some tag line in the movie that says "x" months later. Thereby allowing for missing time that a Captain America 2 in WWII that has characters like The Invaders show up.

Ahhhh, yeah I hadn't thought of that possibility. That would allow for a lot more time to play with vs say just months.
