Not again.
Now they are making a Almighty Thor movie. Sorry to say this but your god of man doesn't look so god like. Look at the hollywood thor, now look at Syfy's thor. I mean I could be better at this than the guy they chose.

Yeah, I know girls who have better muscle tone than this dude.
When will that studio that makes Syfy movie finally just stop doing what they currently do.

When they stop being profitable, then Syfy will stop making/airing them. Not before.

How can they be profitable, hardly anybody likes them. They aren't any good.

They cost very little and get good ratings.

If you're interested, Entertainment Weekly and the New York Times recently ran articles on how profitable they are.

They're silly fun, like old-time drive-in monster movies. And, obviously, lots of people enjoy watching them on Saturday nights.

How. The graphics are horrible, the actors would get an F report card.
Thats how its profitable, no effort is put into it.
Why not show Voyager or Ds9 instead, that would most likely get better ratings.

Profitable means they make money. If they could make more money rerunning DS9 or Voyager they would.

Hate to say this....

Some of these movies are rather close to what Voyager got on broadcast TV when It was the first run series. Let alone what a Voyager repeat would do.

You assume the average television viewer has the same taste in movies that you do. That is your first mistake. These movies appeal to the same demographic that enjoys wrestling.

Additionally, Syfy doesn't hold the rights to DS9 or Voyager. I believe they are still held by SpikeTV.

Thats too bad. Maybe we(trekkie universe) should ask Spike TV to put them back on, or atleast share them or give them to Syfy.

Yeah The movies are liked by others, but I hear more that they are bad, but people watch it for the possible tit and ass scene, I just want to see some more effort put into it. Especially if they are going to put out the same movie that hollywood are. I know they can't compete but they can atleast reach the knees if they safed up and did half the movies, but at greater quality, they might get even more viewers.

The reality is that Syfy makes more money from low-budget Asylum garbage than expensive serialized dramas like Stargate Universe.

The more the marry I guess. But once I would just like to see slightly more quality. I am not gunning for stargate universe, just better graphics than the 80's had.

Indeed, in many cases the Low budget Asylum stuff PAYS for the expensive stuff.

Of course, right about now I would be happy with something as bad as "Space Rangers" if it was newish :)

The movies are made to capitalize on big budget Hollywood blockbusters not compete with them.

Granted, the movies vary in quality, but most of them are goofy fun. My favorites are "Warbirds," "Wyvern," and "Sharktopus." I also have to give a shout-out to "Flu Bird Horror" since it was written by a friend of mine.

I said that I am not asking them to compete with hollywood.

I'm pretty sure my late father-in-law singlehandedly kept The Asylum in business. He loved every awful sci-fi movie ever made, and had hundreds of DVDs of them. My mother-in-law tried to give them to me when he passed -- my reaction was essentially
