New episode tonight, good people. I'd discuss, but my head is so groggy from this antihistamine I can barely put a sentence together. Sounds like good stuff.

Good to hear you didn't get swept up in those legion of tornado's the other night! Seeing the footage of the big one on alabama reminded me of when Lucifer released Death and they showed news footage of all the chaos going on. One being a giant twister!

Mother is a pretty lame Bad Guy--granted we have seen so little of her but the bits we have I thought she wasn't the least bit interesting or threatening--it didn't help with the casting of such an ineffectual actress.

All season I've tried to get excited with the mythology--the strange behavior of the monsters, what Eve was up to--but really wasn't interested in it--it didn't help that the myth would be relegated to the sidelines and saved for these last episodes. Then I thought maybe I'll be more into it when I get a better idea of what's going on and now that I have I have to say that this has to be the worst arc of the series--rather lame what it turned out to be. A large selling point of arcs is developing them into something exciting but I honestly don't care.

I did enjoy a few things here and there--the teaming up of Bobby, Sam, Dean and Castiel. Also Dean naming the new creatures "Jefferson Starship". But overall the episode was pretty lacklustre and what stood out to me was the episode seemingly threw everything into the mix except the kitchen sink yet it still managed to feel aimless, sluggish and boring in large swaths.

Things finally picked up with Eve revealing herself somewhat but the investigating aspects, the use of the kids as seeming innocents, gore, a high body count, a character--in this case Castiel--resorting to torture because of a dire situation all seemed to be straight out of the Supernatural playbook and as such very predictable and expected. I also didn't like how easily Eve was dispensed or her little monsters.

I give this a C-. The only real interesting part is the ominous cloud of suspicion over the last few weeks about Castiel.

Holy moly, Castiel, what have you done? The insanity of the SPN fandom is going to explode. The Castiel "camp" is going to whine like booze soaked babies. Me, I'm glad the endgame wasn't vanquishing Eve. Castiel and Crowley--wow.

This episode has made me think of something: what if this entire season has been one big diversion over the identity of the season's Big Bad?

First, we thought it was Crowley, then it was Eve, and now Crowley's back and working with Castiel. I think this entire season is building to the real Big Bad of Season 6 and for the moment we may think that Castiel may be it, I think differently and I think once he or she comes out of the shadows, that's when the second half of this story kicks off with the end of Season Six and the beginning of Season Seven.

Who do you guys think the real Big Bad is?

What if Crowley and Castiel were in cahoots all this time? This might be a long shot and the only thing I can really think of is that they wanted to eliminate both Lucifer and Michael last season by locking them up in the cage. Then set their sights on Eve. That way they can attempt to control all the souls from each realm Heaven, Hell and Purgatory. They've already got Hell and still working on the other two, which is why there's a civil war going on with the angels. I don't know, I could be reaching here.

It's just strange how we even got to this point of the story. I am still baffled by all this. Castiel and Crowley live together in harmony.

Crowley is just a means to an end to Castiel. And I think they may be right about Crowley and Castiel working the whole time. Maybe they strike their deal before the confrontation with Lucifer. And I also suspect that Castiel was behind getting Sam out of Hell somehow and purposely left his soul behind so Sam can be the perfect hunting machine for Alpha monsters alongside Samuel.

It would also make a lot more sense if it was Castiel who brought back Samuel from Heaven. This whole resurrection thing was something that always felt like it was way out of Crowley's league.

I'm definitely thinking it was Castiel. It makes sense. He has this advance deal he's struck with Crowley, but Dean's distress over Sam gets to Cas. Dean's the fly in the ointment where Cas is concerned.

what makes you think that crowleys bones were even burned up.... ever heard of bait and switch....
they both needed the boys to stop paying attention to crowley... they've been in it together for longer then you think.

I was thinking the same, what if Cas is the big bad of season 7?

Both---hence all the black oozy stuff. The ashes killed her, not just her vessel. I'm pretty sure she properly snuffed it.

The orphaned boys---they really shouldn't have fallen for that one. It seems like they should be a bit wiser these days; it did, however, illustrate how easily they can still be suckered.

Side note: I liked Bobby's reaction to the tablet. "This isn't a real computer. A REAL computer has buttons!"

It was a little odd that they talked about all the tests they would perform and then didn't use the test that had just worked ten seconds ago (the videotape).

I was under the impression that the boy was test-proof being Eve's latest creation.

That part wasn't clear to me. I thought the boy was supposed to be the same creature as the others in the diner. Also, how do you hide those teeth and barbs (unless they were on a time-release or had the ability to change back and forth from regular human form?)...?
