How dost thou rate the Doctor's adventure?

So that means there are two other Time Lords around the Doctor doesn't sense, bringing into doubt his ability to sense Time Lords these days. Plus, there's uncertainty about the existence of the Master.

The little girl doesn't have to be a Time Lord, since we know the ability to regenerate (and any limitations on it once granted) is somehow artificially given - hence they could offer the Master a new life cycle in both the classic and new series.

Yes, and there's also the issue of fob watches, though the little girl was seen sporting this:

Well, that seals it then. She must be a Time Traveller. That franchise didn't begin till 1981. In 1969 a little girl should be wearing a sensible child's timex.

Wibbly-wobbly! Timey-pony?

If the Doctor is responsible for an untold number of historical events in Earth's past, it's probable that she started the franchise herself.

I gave it a "kinda kewl".

I really like Matt Smith (couldn't stomach Tennant) and I like Amy, Rory, River, et al. But, it's off to a fairly slow start, IMO. I thought last season was so cool that I guess I have pretty high hopes. I'm nowhere near giving up though...I'm sure it'll pick up more. :bolian:

It could be the Doctor's daughter, and not Jenny. If The Doctor has a granddaughter, Susan, then he must have had a a child, so this could be her.

BTW, since it was recorded, does that mean every time we rewatch the moon landing recording, we're seeing the Silence ordering us to kill them?

That seems implied. It's the only thing that would make us a long-term threat to the Silence, as every person who ever watched the footage would see the message. If it was only in the first broadcast, they'd only need to withdraw until the generation who saw the landing live was dead and then return in force.

of course, i dunno about you, but i don't repeatedly watch it, im sure a lot of people have never seen it, so over time there will still be a lot of people who have never seen it, kind of a weak plan, works in the short term well, but the long term meh

Still it's a lottery game for the Silence to ever go near a human ever again. Of course not everybody will see ever see it but the Silence will have no way of knowing which humans did.
It's pretty safe to assume they will avoid Earth at all cost from now on.

OK, so I probably should've read the whole thread but I'm just going to throw this out there and y'all can give me whatever education needs to be given...

So, is it possible that Amy is just like...a "carrier" or something? I mean, is that how Time Lords are reproduced? That it doesn't have to be anything sexual; it's just a matter of survival, etc.

I don't know a whole lot of history of the show. My first season watching was the one with Eccleston and I couldn't watch much of it with Tennant because I don't like him. But I watched all of last season (at DAK's urging ;)).

Unless they just go into hidding, and stay in the background still. I'm not sure if they have the means to leave Earth at this point, it is their home now after so long.

i don't think we've ever seen how Timelords reproduce, all we know is that the Doctor had a Granddaughter, Susan, so he must have had a child, perhaps this little girl his the Doctors daughter, but not Jenny.

I kind of assume Timelords reproduce the same way we do.

There are plenty of places they can hide out for 30 or 40 years where no-one will have seen that clip. Then they can come out, and just stay away from people who carry weapons. There are historians who would argue that American supremacy has been more on paper than in reality in a gentle but steady decline since... well, about 1969. China is now possibly the most powerful nation economically. And have their own space programme. And I bet very few there have seen that clip. ;)

I've never thought that America was superior or held any supremacy, and I'm an American /shrug

Our space program now has gone to the dogs, NASA simply doesn't get the funding it needs, and now they are pretty much out of the manned space flight business altogether, it is really rather appalling, I'm saddened by it all.

So fifty years from now, the Doctor will save the world again by splicing that Silent clip into a live broadcast of a Chinese astronaut setting foot on Mars.

But what will humanity have been brainwashed into in the meanwhile?

(And by then Americans will all be pacifists and not carrying weapons, so the Silence can just move back into their old home :guffaw:)

All Americans do not carry weapons. I'm tired of this stereotype.

Unfortunately, telling people to kill the Silence on sight depends on the stereotype. What are you going to do otherwise? Throw your pen at them?
