Re: If you had to create your own TV show, what concept would you go wi
Mmm, yeah. I don't
have to put together my own TV show, I'm doing it all the time.
-- a drama (miniseries) about a fictitious pioneering family, and what happens when the family has no more members alive, what happens to their history, their possessions, when they're gone? A journalist is hired to investigate, and finds out more than he thought he would.
-- an alternate Australia, where from 1975 to 1988, a fascist government was in control. This is not about that, but about police investigating the missing people that turn up, tracking down the criminals still running. (There's more to it than that, but that's the basics. It's a kind of a cop show, but it's more about missing persons).
(Fun fact: in 1932 a group of 'concerned citizens ' approached General Sir John Monash to form a solid government like those sensible chappies Mussolini and Hitler had done. Monash, you may have realised, declined).
(The above two are being sent to various production companies to see if I can get them under way, as the ABC is aware of them and thinks they're "really interesting".)
-- imagine a bunch of multigenerational ships were sent out into the galaxy, then the Earth fell into chaos. When it all starts working again, they also have FTL drive. A ship goes out exploring, trying to find the multigen ships and if necessary bring them home.
-- a series that does, in a
sociological sense, what Eureka does in a
scientific sense. A town is manipulated into trying future trends in community and society.
I have a couple more, but I'm reluctant to discuss them. They're good. Or have the potential to be good.
