Star Wars May the Fourth Announcement?

I think you got it right from the start, more information about the Complete Saga on blu-ray. The weekly newsletter I got from starwars.com is just an an advert for this. The full details of what's included on the release may be revealed on starwars.com on May 4th, IMO...

Episode VII. You heard it here first.

Nah, I'm kidding. I don't want those made till after Lucas is dead, anyway, or unless he's willing to give up creative control to someone else.

^ Filoni if ever at all. I'm inclined to agree that this is more information on the blu-ray release. Why they felt the need to do a countdown is beyond me unless there is some kind of mind blowing thing they're including in the set.

Wouldn't that be awesome if he added some new CGI into the old movies????? :drools:
Raping of childhood. You know the drill.

I would actually like to see more work done on A New Hope. Empire and Jedi hold up really well to this day (to the point that they generally look better than the video-game-esque prequels), but Star Wars kind of looks like crap. To those who disagree, I point to the scene where Han is all like, "I'm gonna have to do some spiffy maneuvering to get us out of this jam!", referring to the star destroyers behind him, then proceeds to fly in a straight line.

I wouldn't mind them adding a five minute CGI sequence of the Falcon deftly flipping and flying through a swarm of Destroyer fire and flit between them and escape. No, really! I actually like the Special Editions.

Well, I'll say I didn't mind the general idea.

And it's really nothing, but can someone answer me why Star Destroyer has always been capitalized? I don't say that the USS Ronald Reagan is an Aircraft Carrier. Nor do I refer to Enola Gay as an Bomber Airplane. I don't get it.

while sci fi has many destroyers of stars, the is only one Star Destroyer (tm) (r)

"Imperial Star Destroyer" is a term legally owned by Lucasfilms.

Don't laugh, because the terms "Starship Enterprise" and "U.S.S. Enterprise" are both trademarks of CBS...

Maybe it's an update on the live action series. I mean, it's not like the whole "there will be a live action series" thing was a Michael Scott episode or something. I hear it's coming out in 2009!

It could also be an update on the 3D re-releases, perhaps they'll be releasing them all next year instead of year-by-year. That's how it happened with the SEs, I think.

a countdown like that for a dvd/BR release? seems a bit much, I think it's going to be about the rumored live action series, or atleast another clone wars type cgi series

I think it could also be that Lucas will include the original (non-se) versions of the films-hopefully this time, properly restored and anamorphic.

Because neither Lucus and countdown clocks have ever disappointed.

Well that makes sense since it's not like the term U.S.S. Enterprise existed before Star Trek... It's not like there were ships called U.S.S. Enterprise before Star Trek...

and for this announcement I'm guessing a teaser release (or info on a teaser/trailer) for the Star Wars 3D conversion.
