"Uh'll be back." - Another Terminator for Arnie

Terminator 2 with Arnold AGAIN playing the same bad Terminator, wouldn't that have been really lame?
Better than the cutesy treacle they gave us.
So you wanted a carbon copy, because that's what it would have been.
No it wouldn't have. It would have had the kid being protected by it's mom, instead of the waitress being protected by the future guy. I just don't want cute in my action movies.

Except for the ending, T3 is a copy of T2, so I know what I'm talking about.
I never bothered with T3 because of how much I hated T2.

Wow, this is the first time I've ever heard someone call Terminator 2 cutesy. lol.

But having Arnie go back to a bad guy would be cool. They've done 2 in a row with good Arnie. I think audiences would totally enjoy seeing a bad Arnie Terminator again. He hasn't done movies in a little while, so the novelty value of an Arnie Terminator would be enough to draw in the crowds regardless of whether he's the good guy or not.
Considering they come off an assembly line, have him play both good and bad Terminators and make it really interesting. Have him play 10 bad ones and 1 good one for all I care.

Terminator, True Lies, Eraser and Conan are the only sequels I could picture in my mind. Oh, and The Expendables.

With Arnold playing a human resistance fighter in 2029, you can have both.

Don't make my action movies make me feel feelings!

That's kind of absurd.

Anyways, True Lies is the only sequel that I feel would work. However, I feel like Arnold's days of being a relevant actor are long gone.

thread title drives me nuts . . . comes across as 'you'll be back' not 'I'll be back'
should be 'Ah'll be back.'

"Ah'll" reads more like the Terminator hails from Dogpatch, USA (or perhaps Sergeant Candy). Arnie's delivery is more guttural, and I think "Uh'll" is a better phonetic representation.

It should probably be more like Uh'll beh beck.

Eh...Aisle be Bach looks closer to me. I think he was talking about becoming a pianist in the future :D

I don't know, I think the interest is pretty decent right now. He's never been respected for his acting skills, always the personality/accent and the physique. As long as he gets back into reasonable shape, I think he'll be fine. Seeing his cheese up the screen with corny one liners in an Austrian accent is timelessly relevant!

I dunno, for about a decade before he became governor, he didn't really star in anything noteworthy. His time as big action star in high grossing films had kind of ended. Probably right around Junior was when he just became one giant walking parody.

I think Eraser was his last "good" action romp. Although End of Days and Collateral Damage weren't too bad either. I didn't care much for The 6th Day.

You're right. But I think that his absence from acting and his time as a governor of all things has created some level of interest for his return, and I think his comeback movie will do fairly well because of it. Whether or not he can sustain it is questionable, but it could be a slight comeback for him if done right, I think.

Arnold's got to be one of the shrewdest, smartest guys to work in Hollywood in decades. Even allowing for a couple of breaks, he was the least likely fellow to have the careers that he has had - and he'd be the first to tell you that. From the time he was young he both knew what he wanted and was open to all sorts of opportunities and possibilities.

"Eets not a tumah!" or "I'm the potty poopa!" are some of the greatest most under rated lines in cinema history! Kindergarten Cop is actually pretty damn good. I need to watch it again sometime.

So it looks like if the next Terminator does happen, Justin Lin, the director, mentioned he thinking about ignoring the past 2 movies, which appears to be a popular trend lately. I'm not sure how they incorporate an aged Arnold if that was the case, but I'm all for it. He did mention that since time travel is involved that there are many different timelines to play with.

Thoughts?
