So I'm trying to do the Rescue the Defari Captives mission, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to hail the damn Breen. Do you have to be a certain rank to do this mission?

Level 10, AKA Lieutenant Commander 0.

Your level's okay. The Breen is quick and elusive. Get really close to him.

Btw, there is more than one way to resolve that mission.

Do tell. ;)

Oh and that's not my level. I'm only Lt. 3 right now. Just started a couple of days ago.

Hope you guys don't mind my popping in here for a question, I may be getting a new computer soon, most likely a laptop. I've read the system reqs on the website, but I've always thought that people who already play a game know better. Any recommendations for what processor/memory/hard drive to make it work well?

Thanks!

Guess I'm getting the hang of the space combat. I finished the Stranded in Space mission I was having problems with. All by myself. :)

Yeah, I read that, thanks. But my question was more wondering if those reqs are good based on experience with the game itself. like the reqs say recommended 2GB RAM+, is it bad at 2 or is 3 where things get smooth? Just curious, thanks.

Things are playable at the minimum specs. Things get good at the recommended specs.

If you're going to try STO on a laptop, make sure:

1) The laptop has good heatflow and cooling (and get a cooling fan pad for the laptop in any case.

2) Make sure it has a good Nvidia or ATI cjipset (better would be one of the swapable M of 'Go' series cards.)

I use both my Desktop and my ASUS gaming lptop at times (I7 Intel CPU - 8 GB pn the MB - Nvidia 460M under Windows 7 64-bit); but again ASUS stated this laptop was made with higher end gaming in mind.

If you use an average, or more Office application oriented laptop, heat dissapation (and the lack of it) may be an issue s STO really does make full use of all the hardware you have (and in doing so will cause that hardware tio generate more heat); biu with the right laptop, youy can indeed play STO and have a good visual experience.

Cryptic has updated the event calender. May is shaping up to be pretty good.
C-Store will get S31 Uniforms (which I will pass on, I guess) as well as playable fighters for Fed/KDF.
The long awaited Rerun of all 3 featured Episodes, which will give everyone the opportunity to get the Breen and Reman BOs plus the awesome Ophidian Cane if you missed it during the first run.
The month will be concluded by the release of remastered episodes "Diplomatic Orders" (P'jem) and "Doomsday".
Judging by the remastered "Stranded in Space" we can expect cutscenes, career objectives, levelscaling, possibly new or extended maps (like the transporter room in "SiS") and new special rewards.
Gozer himself is especially proud of "Doomsday".

So you can only play the Featured episodes when they decide to rerun them, or are they accessible at any time?

You can play them any time. Just the special rewards for playing the whole series were only availabe during their release weeks and now for the first time since then during reruns.

Word on when we get new featured episodes?

Post Season 4 (slated to go to Tribble in late May, early June, then to Live/Holodeck, late June early July.)

They are retooling the schedule and personnel so that the can do 9 FE series in a year (45 weeks - based on 5 eps or so per series); and after that, they are going top try and not have any more than a 2 week break between FE series. All while continuing the standard 3 to 4 major Season Update patches per year too.

It seems very ambitious to me, but if they can pull that kind of schedule off, it bodes well for the future of the game.

Well the only thing I see as a must have is the breen, as I don't give a crap about the cane and I can make a Reman.
