How do you tell someone it will be OK?

Now if only I could say the same about her taste in cinema. :p

My taste in cinema is perfectly fine. :)

I claim temporary insanity.

As for everything else: I dabbled with bulimia, it lasted maybe a week and I threw up all of maybe three times, in comes protective older sister. I do not binge. The friend who stopped talking to me after the accident once commented while she was at my house about how hungry she was because I don't eat a lot.

I do work out as my sister said.

And thank you. :)

Mair, you picked a good picture. Why don't we have any together?

Welcome to the party!

I've finally read to the end and was about to offer advice to HoneyBLilly, and here you are!

I can't say I'm in touch with teenagers, but here's what I think:

Other people can be really awful. It took me some time to figure out that a lot of the time it isn't about the person they're being cruel to, but about where they themselves are emotionally at the moment. It's easy to internalize everything that other people throw at you, but I'd suggest that a lot of the time it has nothing to do with you at all. If people say mean things to you, just turn it around on them--if they feel the need to mock or criticize, what does that say about them? Are they envious? Insecure?

I don't know you except from this post, but I can tell you two things: You've got a great sense of humor, and a sister who's pretty cool and really, really cares about you.

In my book, that's a great place to start.

All I know is I want to see that guy with the weird nose and bitchin' bod talk about his wedding plans with a baby.

But she has been working out, today she just walked from her house downtown to mine all the way across town. I know this because she had sneakers on, she hates sneakers.
But that's not working out.

It may not be " working out " but walking is probably one of, if not the best, exercises a person can do, it is low impact and high results over time, plus it will add to her stamina and cardio health. when i was overweight to the extreme, I started walking around a park in my area, the walk, measured by a car driving one lap around it was a little over a mile, was not flat ground either, the longest stretch was an incline, with a slight diet change I was able to lose nearly 40 pounds in 5 months, granted I was/am in good health, but the benefits this young lady can gain from simply walking a few miles a day ( I started with 1 lap an night and weekly increased it til i was doing 5-8 a night ) should not be dismissed out of hand.

Hmm . . . I had never thought of it that way. All I know is that must be insecure about their brains since that's the one thing that has stayed constant since first grade I think.

Harry Potter dropped after awhile, weight comes in and out, but the fact that they mock me in class when I'm answering a question has always stayed constant.

She does have a wicked sense of humor. :D

Hence why she doesn't want to destroy me. Yet, anyways.

Don't drink anything I give you. ;)

Exactly. I hate how people dismiss walking because it's not something strenuous like lifting weights.

If you can make it permanent, you'll do well here. Welcome to the BBS. :bolian:

Why am I regretting this already?

Obviously I am insane though, I like "Threshold" and "Spock's Brain":lol::lol:

Well, I do think Spock's Brain is only a tiny little bit better than Twilight. ;)

Just as long as there aren't sparkling vampires, I'll love it forever. :)

Can't argue with that, good point. That's why Harry Potter is better than Twilight at least: Edward dies in HP4.
(That's a guess btw, it was 4 or 5. He's Cedric Diggory or so?)

You were correct, it was 4 and Cedric Diggory.

And Harry Potter was better anyways, J.K.Rowling can actually write unlike Ms. Meyer who uses the word "pursed" every other sentence.

Plus Harry Potter has Ron.

Plus Harry Potter has Ron.

The guy owns an ice cream truck in real life. Just for fun.

He's either cool in a quirky way or he's incredibly cruel cause he's trying to make kids think there's ice cream incoming when in fact it's just Ron Weasley!

I reckon he's just a wicked person! :p

I think that's awesome. :D

And I think the kids wouldn't mind so much when they saw that it was Ron Weasley.

Allow me to second (or third?) this. I used to walk around 3 1/2 miles each way to work until my job relocated. I now drive to work instead; trying to make up for that lost exercise is difficult as I now actually have to watch more of what I eat!

Let me also extend a welcome to Ashlynn, though it seems a bit awkward in a thread dedicated to helping you.

This can be a pretty supportive place if you need that from it, though I think your best sources of support are your sister and yourself.
