Well done Iasius. And I love that texture pack. Sadly my pc doesn't quite have the horsepower to handle one of those ultra high rez packs.

Itisnotlogical - I don't know about these guys, but I put in a few hours each day working in my world. Its just that addictive.

Spent a few hours on Roberts server today. Cooool! It has some great scenery. You guys need to try it out!

Building stuff is pretty much my main focus. When I'm working on a castle or a house, I pretty much go and spend time gathering materials, and then come back and use six or seven stacks of cobblestone. Then I start all over again.

After arduous effort collecting all that cobblestone, I have FINALLY rebuilt my house, now fireproof thanks to the magic of cobblestone:

I have also fixed my lava room, so hopefully I won't have any more accidents... like the one that made me have to rebuild my house in the first place:

I should have made the back a full square of glass, but I didn't really feel like a trip down to the nearest beach. Maybe I'll shave off the excess cobblestone so that it at least looks like it's supposed to be rounded at the back.

I just noticed for the first time yesterday that one of the menu phrases in Minecraft is "reticulating splines." Why am I not shocked that Notch (or someone on the Mojang team) is a fan of SimCity?

Feh. You guys are lucky. Try going out and harvesting several hundred blocks of wool!

I built a desert fortress today. I had to gather a lot of sand and sandstone. Bleh. Fortunately, there is sand all around...

You could build an underwater glass base, they're cool places to hang out. They take a lot of work, but it makes for a great spectacle at night. (If you do decide to make one, wait until 1.5 because they're reverting the water-flows so they're not so difficult to walk against.)

I started mine over six months ago, so I've had plenty of time to add to my main house. It started out as a small wood shack on my first night, now it's a fortress with a town around it. For most of my first two weeks it was a tiny two-room keep, I just kept expanding it whenever I had time and resources to do so. The town itself took almost two weeks of me playing around two hours a day, and a little more over the last few days to get it finished.

I still have some finishing touches to put on it, but I'm reasonably pleased with the end result. If anyone is interested, I can post my updated world once I'm done.

    Oh no, not again. :scream:

    :p

I have been saving wool since I started this world though and any sheep (and chickens) coming across my way get converted into resources. I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to Minecraft.

I've been thinking about doing that and I probably will at some point, but for now I like to build a nice and large building on land somewhere I think. I might just go with your suggestion once 1.5 rolls around, as you say, should be easier than in the current version.

Actually, I'm pretty certain by now my next building will be in this style, often called Niedersachsenhaus. It used to be the way many buildings were constructed in the area I grew up in.

I have about 300 blocks of bricks, I think that may be enough, but the roof will be more difficult to replicate. It was often made with a thatched roof. I might go for a particular colored wool for that.

    I haven't been bitching that much have I? :(

Sorry. I'll try not to post so much.

Well, as I've said. I'm well supplied with resources in many areas. :)

No no, I was referring to my own mad sheep hunt. Those sheep are everywhere, baaing all night and pushing you into zombie dungeons (that hurt), but when you go looking for them they're never around. I think it's part of an evil conspiracy. Sheep are the real bad guys in Minecraft, all the monsters are just doing their bidding. Wolves know about this and that's why they're trying to kill them.

Sheep must also be hiding all the iron, gold, and diamonds. That would explain why I have barely found any, despite digging to the center of the earth numerous times.

So, anybody with a wooden dowel and unwanted diamonds can make a lightsaber?

So Garak, whatcha gonna do with all the TNT? Gonna blow up a mountain and post it on Youtube? ;)

Its funny, but someone on The Shaft podcast suggesting lightsabers. I think it was a Redstone torch, diamond, and a couple of pieces of iron.

Lol. Sorry about that. Guess I was letting my insecurities get the best of me.

Sadly this is really the only place I can talk about my favorite game. I spent a week on the official Minecraft forum, but I haven't seen so many trolls and flames since the last time I watched Return of the King. Damn 14 year olds.

Yeah, discussion here is much better than at the official forums. The sad thing is, those forums are moderated! And they're still no fun to participate in.

There are certainly some informative threads to read, but I wouldn't want to talk to most of those people.

The Minecraft forums are like 4chan without the porn, which is 4chan's only redeeming quality. I check it for news about upcoming updates, and it's the best place to go in the aftermath of an update to find out what has been included, but other than that I stay away.
