My Beard Dilemma

My beard, as of Friday. If I appear flushed, don't worry. It's just because I was totally wasted on Long Island Iced Teas and Jagerbombs. :p

Aww, keep it. You look all grownup and hot.

I like it, too. That's not the issue. Beards just feel like more of a winter thing.

I don't know. It looks thin enough that it wouldn't interfere with any activity, or be too much of a bother when you sweat. It also appears to be thin enough where air can reach your face, too, and let it breathe.

It's hair, it will grow back.

You look good for a man with a beard. I wouldn't get rid of it, it doesn't even look that long.

Agree. Despite my relatively young time on this planet, been amazed/confused by number of women who like ("oh, so masculine/handsome") but don't like beards (usually for what they cite as 'practical' reasons). Fortunately now don't GAF :)

The beard looks good, but I think a summertime goatee wouldn't go amiss.

I'd recommend shaving it all off, but that's only because I detest facial hair and hate having to deal with it. An attitude which, I'm certain, doesn't have anything to do with my inability to grow a proper beard. :ouch:

My ability to grow facial hair is balanced by the fact that my skin gets very, very irritated when I do shave.

Yeah...I know. It's just a mental thing.

Mental, eh?

Is it weird that that's working?

I'm also very fickle. I don't like to keep the same facial hair for too long because I get bored.

There is a guy in one of my classes who had a beard and shaved it mid semester and he look like a completely diff guy. Did not recognize him at all !

My methods are sound. :D

So you're the Doctor Hibbert of beard fashion? ;)
I get what you're saying. I change my beard style every once in a while, mostly out of sheer laziness where I won't shave for a week (it irritates my skin, even with creams and lotions), and then have to run a bush hog through my beard to get it sane and reasonable. I like short trim around the mustache area (Van Dyke style) with that kind of ultralight stubble over the rest of my jaw and neckline.

I'm currently stuck with just a goatee. I like to have a full beard during the winter and the goatee during the summer. However I'm in that transition between my hair color and totally grey. What is funny, my goatee is almost completely my natural hair color. The rest that would be my beard is almost completely grey. So until my goatee goes grey, I'm stuck. It looks really weird when I grow out my beard, cause I hate to shave.

I am missing a very vital piece of information here that will directly effect the outcome of my decision. Is the beard helping you get laid?

Under normal circumstances I am never without my goatee, but I have to be shaved for my current job. Being a naturally ugly man I regret the loss of anything that gives my face character or distraction. My girlfriend actually got very pissed once when I shaved it off just because I wanted to have it grow back in more manageabley. It took her awhile to even get close to me again because she said it was like being with a different guy.

I had a lot of facial hair for about four years, but shaved it all off last year because the kids at the school where I worked kept bugging me to. Then my girlfriend told me she likes me better this way and I decided to keep it all off.

Keep the beard. Keep it. Keep it! :klingon:

But there's nothing wrong with trimming it, especially in summer.

My own beard waxes and wanes--like the moon, only more slowly. It's shorter now than it was for a while. But I would never shave it off completely.

Not even for a Scooby Snack.

They can have my beard when they shave it from my cold, dead chin.
