Dang commercials

Its my opinion that today's commercials kinda show the un-intelligence of America's majority. I know, some people don't have a sense of humor, by I can laugh somewhat easily. I just view commericals as really stupid and often wonder who they are for.

An why oh why is there some many damn commercials with poeple singing? I have to mute every time the Aaron's commerical comes on.

I don't think commercials have changed that much over the years--the Geico ones can be really funny at times, while the ones for Skittles can be downright creepy periodically--but I do think there are a lot more commercials than there used to be, though, so it can be irritating to sit (or even DVR zip) through them during your favorite program, IMO...

Jingles and singing have always been apart of commercials, good or bad. I'm sure there's some kind of market test result that shows people are more responsive to a commercial that has a jingle or someone singing than one that don't. Most people like music, especially pleasant music. I'm sure that's one of the reason why it's used in commercials.

That one for the Aaron's commercial has country singer Brittini Black, so if you don't like overly loud country music, it's gonna annoy you.

Loud country music & rental furniture/appliances...could be geared towards people in trailer parks ;)

And I get the feeling commercials with loud R&B/rap/dance music is geared towards young and/or black people cuz those commercials completely turn me off and I'm not that old.

I like country rock music.
My favorite skittles commercial and by far the wierdest was the guy with that beard the picks up the skittles and feeds it to the guy giving an interview.

The "worst" Skittles one is the one with the mom keeping her Skittle-tree'd son in the yard for profit and candy.

Yes, kids, remember. Skittles are so good* that it'll make your parents not love you anymore and instead abuse your body just to get more. Skittles are like crack.

I think he meant, which programs. :rommie:

I can't say I watch anything that places me in the Skittle demographic...

often wonder who they are for.

Selling shit.

And they work.

People just flatter themselves that they don't.

I think he meant, which programs. :rommie:

I can't say I can a specific one, but I've seen them and I don't watch any programing geared towards children. I'm assuming candy companies know their target audience is wider than "children" when it comes to treats.
