Just finished my re-read of Vanguard: Harbinger. Pure awesomeness.

Now starting re-read of Vanguard: Summon the Thunder.

Just got the page proofs on the WH13 book. I know what I'm reading this weekend. :)

I also caught up on the BUFFY comics.

I have read:

The screenplay to 'Pi'...(I am actually going to watch the ending, since that is the only thing that I didn't get while reading).

Other than that...pretty good.

I am currently reading:

The 6 volume 'Akira' series...(Also impressive; and waaay better than the anime version). However, I am cringing at the thought of the upcoming 'adaptation.'

Finished : The Husband (Dean Koontz .....review below)
Reading : Full Dark, No Stars (King)

Review
The Husband ended up being quite the nail biter for most of the book. It's a quick, intense read with a few twists that ratchets up the intensity a bit. While the actual climax scene itself and wrap up were a bit rushed and simplistic, the rest of the book 400 pages or so leading up to the end were very satisfying and introduced several memorable characters. Quite a nice return to form for Koontz and a nice addition to his legacy.

I set my expectations really low after the feedback on these boards. I've just started reading Typhon Pact: Seize the Fire. It's not that bad, yet. Then again am only 60 pages in.

I finished Psych - A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Read yesterday. It was very enjoyable, the characterizations were spot on, and it "felt" like an actual episode. It also left me guessing the identity of the killer until the very end.

Last night I started Nobunaga, the first story from Mirror Universe - Shards and Shadows, and finished it today. It was a decent story, but I was hoping it would have been more of a followup to Age of the Empress. I'll probably read another story or two from it before I read something non-Trek.

Just finished Full Circle and am now reading Clone Empire by Steven L. Kent.

Just picked up Hollow Men this weekend for $1.99. That's going on the to-read list somewhere during the Typhon Pact books (reading #2 right now, barely through the prologue... doesn't help that I've started reading it twice late at night after busy days!)

Just finished rereading DS9: Millennium Book 1. I first read this when it came out eleven years ago and as I was just getting back into Trek at the time I hadn't a clue what was going on so didn't enjoy it. But I really like it and looking forward to revisiting Book 2.

Finished Doomsday Book a few minutes ago. Good stuff, and I'll definitely be checking out her other books before too long. But right now I still have A Game of Thrones to read, and I'm also itching to begin Stacy Schiff's Cleopatra: A Life.

Just finished reading the Vanguard novel Summon the Thunder and loved it!

I am now reading Indistinguishable From Magic

I'm going through main series based Trek withdrawl, so I've decided to start Rough Beasts of Empire. Despite the amount of hatred it has gotten from some people, I'm still really looking forward to it.

Personally I wouldn't call it hatred, just, well, it doesn't appeal to everyone and some of the choices DRG III made regarding Sisko in particular just did not sit well with some readers. Ofcourse, you may love it, until you read it, you won't know and there is hardly ever a right or wrong answer when it comes to an opinion, we all have them and if we all had the same one, things would be particually boring, most notibly around these parts.

Oh, I'm a quarter of the way or so through Summon the Thunder, it has seemed a bit slow and ploddy so far, but has picked up and most of all I am enjoying. I've just got a mission to hunt down book three soon I suspect.

I just finished Ill Winds from Mirror Universe: Shards and Shadows. Now I think I may go back to some Sherlock Holmes, I haven't read any in quite a while.

Oh, yeah I understand what you're saying about opinions and I do agree. I have no problem with people's opinions being different than mine. There are people on here who I think seem to be pretty cool guys and girls who hate books that I love and the other way around.
As for what people haven't liked about RBoE, I've read quite a few reviews so I have a pretty clear idea what happens, and it doesn't bother me one bit.

Starting Bernard Cornwell's Gallows Thief. Trying to picture the main character as either Malcolm Reynolds or Richard Sharpe...

Reading Indistinguishable from Magic.

Even having read what I have, I would love to see more Challenger stories. It's like a novel-length CoE story with people we know and love. Even though it's kind of small-universe syndrome, it doesn't feel like it.

Loving it so far.

Just finished Losing the Peace this morning. Surprisingly good given how drab the outline was. Loved the callback to Generations at the end of the book - surprised someone was able to lift something good from that movie. The Crusher flashbacks were great too.
