Wonder Woman(NBC) *Spoilers!*

^ I certainly wouldn't rule it out. There is almost always an initially freak out period when early images like this are released. (One of the reasons, I suppose, why studios don't really care about releasing fairly unimpressive images initially.)

This is true. I don't think there's ever been an instance in the modern era when the first images from some new comic book movie were not greeted with much nit-picking and wringing of hands. It's pretty much a time-honored ritual by now.

At this point, I imagine that Hollywood just considers it an inevitable part of the process. "We put out a photo, the internet goes nuts, and it all blows over . . . ."

Maybe by developing an immunity to it now before show time, we'll like the show better. Maybe it's all part of the master plan.

Greg, EW doesn't make this any easier. They try to get ahead and put up costume images first, and these early images are always crappy. They don't care because ey sell magazines

Yeah, the quality, beautifully-shot early images we got for Nolan's Batman movies are more the exception than the norm. More often the pics we get are badly lit, shot against a blank background, or taken from a really unflattering angle.

It's amazing to me that the publicity people don't put more thought into these things.

Showing up late as usual but I throw my 2 cents in...

I like the design and general idea. I'm iffy about about the stars down the side of the leg but the rest of the design and colour I like and it looks like it's supposed to be a Wonder Woman costume (which is what I was worried about when the concept of the show was first put out.)

I hate the material, however one news description likened it to the Iron Man movie armour, and I want to keep an open mind about how it will show on-screen, they could easily add a CGI layer over it to make it look like some kind of flexible armour plate, so the shiny look will make a bit of sense.

I'm glad it's not Spandex which would be ridiculous IMHO. Sooner or later WW will go crashing through plate glass or get caught in an explosion, Spandex just doesn't work for me.

The material/look may change but the tiara is just more latex, it should be a tiara made of gold metal or forget it. Not a latex headband.

I don't hate the boots but I don't love them either. Glad they aren't stilletos. I know women who are completely agile in heels and can dance all night, but won't be kicking a hole in a tank or a brick wall. The boots have to look sturdy enough to withstand the couple thousand lbs of force she'll be delivering through them. The heel on those boots looks fairly solid but I'd rather see something like a women's motorcycle boot, still fem but sturdy and tough. It can be red or blue, I don't really have an issue with the colour.

Over all I think it's a good concept, depends on how latexy it looks onscreen.

And it doesn't look anything like latex, anyway. More PVC.
Hope it never catches fire! Burning PVC is toxic!

Most burning things are toxic if you inhale.

Nor is it healthy in general to have any sort of costume catch fire while you're wearing it.

It's funny that fans make all kinds of demands that comic adaptations be "faithful" until someone shows up on screen wearing an outfit that looks literally like a comic book superhero costume: skin-tight and done up in primary colors. Then lots of folks freak out. In fact, as drawn, Wonder Woman's costume in the comics appears - like most superhero outfits - to be nothing more than skin-hugging colored fabric with possibly a metallic accent here or there. No armor to speak of (on her or the goddamned Batman).

Honestly, it's not that it looks bad -- it doesn't -- but it looks like it was pulled from the porn version.

This could still be a decent show if they use the costume sparingly, or not at all. Maybe just in the episode where she goes to a Halloween party.

I can hope against hope that the costume isn't in the show, and it was all just a stunt to get the fanboys to provide free publicity. :rommie:

I hate you.

If they aren't going to have the costume on the show, then they shouldn't be doing a superhero show in the first place.

THIS.
Can you hear me, Smallville?

It's too shiney!

That's the main issue, in the comics it doesn't look cheap and shiny.

Worse than shiny, her outfit looks like it's made out of plastic.

I remember being let down that each successive generation of transformers toys had less and even less metal used into their construction until there was none at all.

Kelley talks WW and why he took it. Says he's out of his comfort zone; I think his recognition of that is a good thing.

Yes.

Unfortunately, Kelley has a habit of homogenizing all his shows into, basically, a remake of "LA Law."

Even "Picket Fences" (an aging sheriff tries to keep the peace in a small town plagued by bizarre occurrences) and "Chicago Hope" (the lives and trials of the staff of a major hospital in Chicago) quickly turned into "lawsuit of the week" shows.

As such, even when Kelley steps out of his comfort zone he seems to have a propensity to quickly pull himself (and the series) back into it.

Furthermore, based on some of the stuff in the leaked pilot script (including the "Iron Man"ish testimony before congress), I doubt Kelley can go very long without turning WW into, basically "She Hulk meets Ally McBeal."

At least She-Hulk is a lawyer. Diana Prince is a WAC.
Oh, wait, she's a secret agent.
Oh, wait, she's... what is she again?
