IFM is here...

Damn, just checked bol.com where I always order my Trek books, and it's not available untill may 12th on there. :(

... I think it probably shows that it's written by an author coming from a Dr Who background...

This is one of the reasons I'm looking forward to it, from having read some your WHO stuff previously (I'm so going to be like, "I knew about David A McIntee years before you guys did!").

Now we just need Lance Parkin, Kate Orman, Justin Richards, and Trevor Baxendale to write TREK novels... ;)

As promised, IFM arrived today from amazon.ca. Yipee!

How do you all get these books so early?

Borders and Barnes and Noble around here never have the books until the release date at the earliest (and Borders is getting much later than that). Amazon only has this listed as pre-order and that it won't be released until the 29th.

Not that I mind waiting terribly, but I always end up feeling a little left out... :vulcan:

Some stores just get them in earlier than others. There have been times when some people have found them weeks ahead of the rest of us, and the release date.

Well, Lance writes for the Star Trek Magazine, so I'd assume he's possible at least.

I have no idea about Barnes & Noble or Borders as I live in Canada, but Amazon.ca always ships Trek novels out about 10 days before the release date. I guess they want their money, I pre-ordered a month ago. The minute they send me a book they bill my credit card.

I order the physical paper books, not the e-books.

Amazon's entirely fair policy is they bill preorders when they send you the book, not before, and not later. So if they have the stock and the order, I imagine their accountants want them to ship.

So Canada gets the books at the same time as the US then? I guess since you're on the same continent it does make sense that you would.

woohay! I've been really looking forward to this one, I think I'll pick it up tomorrow too. :)

Yay, just saw on bol.com it will be available in the Netherlands this tuesday. Doesn't really matter anyway, because I still have about 11 or 12 books to read before I can read IFM, but atleast I can order it sooner. :D
