She looks like a Buttercup to me. Sorry. :p "As you wish."

I love that film! :)
:rommie: That's the first thing I thought of when I read the name.

For some reason, I see her as a Shelby or Samantha. Gwyneth or Dorothy might work too. But if you really want to go hardcore you could always name her Miramanee or Mira or Carolyn after characters from TOS.

Awesome dog though. She is so cute!

Edit to Add: How about Bonnie... you know the female mechanic on "Knight Rider"?

I woudln't show the name pookums to your GF, she will take it.
I would go with shelly. she just looks like a shelly. Please tell me its a girl dog with a pink collar. If its a boy, you wont need to worry about nuddering, it will be confused enough.

Possible female dog names:
Squiggums
Cool Edie
Miri
Porthosette

But then don't go by me for cute dog names, mine are Bob and Gus.

She needs a longer cord. Or, is she just charging?

Here she is fully charged:

I'm going for 2of5 ~ or where ever she came in the litter :borg:

Pictures of me in an Irish pub on St Patrick's day last week.

With thanks to the photographer for making halfway decent pictures of me.

Squiggy, I think Buttercup works, based on her appearance.

(this comment from a guy who named his dog "Lily")

You could name her Squiggy. Or would that be confusing? ;)

EDIT: Although I suppose Squiggy would be a male name.

We inherited a cat named Suki... probably after the TrueBlood character. We're not completely sure.

Whenever I wonder what Rogue's boobs look like, I just watch TrueBlood.

I like Buttercup too, it does suit her.

When I was a little girl I got a black lab mix puppy. I wanted to name her Jemima but my mom wouldn't let me; she said people would get the wrong idea. I didn't understand why then, but I'm glad she made me choose another name!

^That's partly it. In America, Jemima is a somewhat loaded name. It used to be used a lot for the stereotypical Mammie-type characters, so naming a little black dog Jemima could be taken wrong. A bit silly, it's true.

ETA: Thanks for the link Snoopy -- it was an interesting read!

Ah, thanks for explanation. I guess some things are still outside the reach of my knowledge about US culture. :D

As for loaded names for pet, my family had a female cat some years ago: we never really agreed on a name, but after a while most of the times we were calling her Micia (pr. MEE-cha), which would the the Italian equivalent of, well, Pussy. Sure, the Italian word does not have the sexual connotation, but I always thought it was quite uncomfortable hearing my octogenarian grandma calling around what amounted to "Pussyyy! Pussyyyyyy!" :alienblush:
