I suck at being a shipper because I can always see possibilities so don't get super invested.. for instance though my preference is J/7 I do see J as super-hetero and rather fond of C, though I don't care for it. Trip/T'Pol though, YES and I would just point all detractors to E2. "LOOK at their magnificent offspring!" :: gawks at Lorian :: But anyway.. I suspect you are asking if I was a T/T shipper back in the "epic" days, and no I wasn't reading this board or any Trek board then as I was trying to remain spoiler free. I'm curious though, what kind of challenges could be connected to the name Triaxian Silk?
This You and star can fight over Soval (though I do think he's pretty awesome too). I'll take Lorian.
Lorian is such an interesting character! I'm still amazed at how much he looked like both Trip and T'Pol, the casting was awesome. I would love, love, love to read their story, the years before E2. E2 is my favorite ENT ep.
I have to say that I thought T'Pol was quite a good character in the show, and that she was reasonably well acted... but I feel cheated when the season came to an end as I felt we were just getting to really know the characters as they developed and becoming attached to them. We wanted to see the whole story, and that applied especially to T'Pol, see her develop with humans in their first deep space missions.
I thought Blalock was quite good in the role; some episodes that stand out: "Carbon Creek," "The Seventh," the Vulcan trilogy from Season 4. And like you I really thought the character was coming into her own in Season 4, but alas.... Yancy
While Tuvok is my second favorite Vulcan,I agree Blalock did a fine job. I really liked her as a character. My only complaint is the cat-suit they made T'pol wear for the show, especially the first 2 seasons. I felt it was gratuitous and unnecessary, and especially after just coming off of 4 years of 7 of 9, it was an obvious attempt to emulate 7's uniform, not a Vulcan uniform. In fact, you can't call T'pol's uniform a uniform, since she was the only one to wear it. For seasons 1 and 2, she should have had either a female version of this uniform: or this one: For Seasons 3 and 4 she should have been in a Starfleet, IMHO, especially if she held the rank of Commander.
Blalock did a great acting job as T'Pol, as good as just about anyone in Trek ever does. I don't think I've seen any of her other work, so I have no opinion beyond that.
The only other thing I saw her in was as Teal'c's girlfriend in Stargate SG1, and she just played a generic female warrior character. But as T'pol, I liked her acting.
She was at the top of her game in "Slow Burn" opposite Ray Liotta. Not so good in Diamond Hunters... and ok in Starship Troopers 3 but the writing was awful. Intentionally awful, I think, but still awful. What else... oh right, she was in... a horror movie about people who wake up in some sort of underground mental facility being chased by fantoms... with James Marsters. She was pretty good in that as well. Tony Todd was in it, too. Ya know she was also cast with Taye Diggs in Slow Burn. Christopher Judge, Taye Diggs, Tony Todd... she keeps getting cast opposite big hulky black dudes!
I enjoyed her T'Pol. The first thing I saw her in was Jason and the Argonauts as Medea. She was pretty enjoyable in that as well.
I really don't get it, I think she would have looked FAR more attractive and sexy in this uniform than the cat suit. Great color for her too. We do see her in something like this at one point don't we?
Put her in some real pants, and add a little more detail to the tunic, and she would have looked much better. Alas.
And by her acting you mean her fun bags. Still puzzled as to why female Vulcans would have silicone boobs and collagen lips.
