What would you BUY if someone handed you a ton of money?

Let's just say someone hands you a ton of money. You don't need it to pay your bills or use it for any reason other than to mega splurge. What would you buy?

I've always thought about how cool it would be to actually buy, own and operate a movie theater. Just a small one, to have intimate showings of great great movies. Maybe run a 'theme' month or something like that. Be able to show independent films, whatever. I would LOVE that.

What about you? What would you buy with your money?

An airplane. Probably single engine----twins tend to guzzle more gas. Since I have no jet experience, I'd probably go with a piston.

I would buy a house and build a recording studio and a home theater setup into the house. Or maybe I would just buy a condo and a recording studio. Hmmm.

The main thing I would want money for would be to loaf and pursue creative projects and just take a more hedonistic approach towards life in general.

I've sometimes thought about what it would be like to run a business but I think I lack the necessary people skills. Investing in a business on the other hand, that would be cool.

A movie theatre sounds awesome, but I'd make mine one of those bistro numbers. Full bar and kitchen as well as an arcade.

Or maybe my own institute for astrophysics, no more sharing my corridor with other science grunts!

As per a discussion with a friend, I'd love to open a Trek themed summer camp devoted to studying a specific species for each session.

But other than that, I'd finish up my reenacting impression.

When I first saw this thread, I was going to say something like "World Peace" or something like that. But, if we're being indulgent ....

The Hubby and I have joked for a couple of years now that, if we won the lottery the first thing we'd do is buy a residential condo on The World.

The only problem with that is, we couldn't bring our beloved doggies.

So, what I'd really do is buy myself a Tiki Bar right on the beach on some Caribbean island. Seriously. I would LOVE to live on an island in the Caribbean and run a bar on the beach. I can't think of anything I'd rather do for a living.

I'd use the money to pay for film school. I've been wanting to work in film for as long as I can remember but have never been able to afford film school, so that would definitely be the first thing I'd do.

After that, it would be house, car and home theatre system

I would tear down the house I have and build a 100% handicap accessible home. Of course, I would indulge in a billiard room... and an indoor theater... and a large garage to work on restoring old cars...

There's a movie I've been waiting for for a long time. The people involved in the first two films (it's a sequel) want to make it but have trouble raising the money. I'd give them the money they need to do it.
