Top 5 favorite DS9 episodes

I know that this might be hard, but I'm interested in seeing what your favorites are. I'll accept two-part episodes as being one.

For me, it goes:

1. Improbable Cause/The Die is Cast - I think that this is really when DS9 achieved greatness. We saw the first joint mission between the Obsidian Order and the Tal'Shiar, and we witnessed their destruction.

2. The Wire - You really get to understand Garak for the first time. Up until this point, and even very much so afterwards, Garak was a bit of a mystery. There was a lot of lies hidden with other lies.

3. Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges - I loved every Section 31 episode and combining that aspect of DS9 with the Romulans, it was too good to be true.

4. The Jem'Hadar - We had heard about the Dominion in a prior episode, but this is when we finally experienced the Dominion as the monster it really was. Watching Sisko and Quark interact was priceless. "I'm about to put my fist in your opinion!"

5. The Search Part I/The Search Part II - A direct follow up to The Jem'Hadar. We're introduced to the Defiant for the first time and learn even more about the Dominion. This two-parter really started to give momentum to the DS9 story.

1. "Trials and Tribble-ations" (Season 5, Episode 6)
2. "To the Death" (Season 4, Episode 23)
3. "You Are Cordially Invited..." (Season 6, Episode 7)
4. "His Way" (Season 6, Episode 20)
5. "Take Me Out to the Holosuite" (Season 7, Episode 4)

I generally dig the 'lighter' episodes, and I don't think there are any truly 'great' episodes until season 4.

I really enjoy "Take Me Out to the Holosuite". Scotch flavored gum would be amazing.

Battle Lines, Season 1 --- [this one sold me that DS9 had significant potential beyond the limitations of TNG]

Duet, Season 1 --- [this indicated that DS9 might fulfill its potential]

Trials and Tribble-ations, Season 5 --- [lots of fun for TOS fans, like me]

Far Beyond the Stars, Season 6 --- [refreshingly outside the box, cleverly leans on the fourth wall, also for TOS fans, and brilliant in almost every way]

Once More Unto the Breach, Season 7 --- [also for TOS fans, a sad comment on aging, in the context of an aging TOS icon]

I'm glad you included "Explorers". This would be in my top ten.

1. Afterimage--Ezri's major episode. :luvlove:

2. Inter Arna...--I also loves me my Section 31--and this ep was probably their best showing, as opposed to the book series portraying them as incompetent dupes....

3. Our Man Bashir--Bashir. Julian Bashir. Need I say more?

4. His Way--What can I say? I love Vic Fontaine!

5. You Are Cordially Invited...--just plain fun--especially all the torment Miles and Julian go through!
