Okay... today, I went to a local supermarket, and as I was in line waiting to speak to a manager, an employee also was waiting to talk to someone at the front desk... a young lady that looked in her late 20's. Anyway, she smiled at me, out of simple politeness, I'm sure, nothing more, but I smiled back, and I just thought she looked SO cute... she looked "bookish" but by no means nerdy... at least not to me, lol. And I didn't see any rings on her fingers, lol.
At the time, I didn't say anything more to her, because one, I didn't want to seem creepy, and also because she was waiting to speak with her manager. But as I drove home, and even now, she just stands out in my mind, and I regret not having said anything. So...
I am thinking about going back to that store, which is not a place I usually shop, and going for broke, and risking making an arse of myself, and asking her if she'd like to have coffee and chat or something. I just know that I have to at least make an attempt, because I don't want to always wonder what might have been... I mean, the worse that can happen, is she says no, right?
So any advice on just what to say without sounding like a total arse or creep?
She really did look cute, and her name was a total bonus... her name tag said "Elizabeth", which shortened, is Eliza... and as some of you know, I have a thing for women named Eliza, lol. I KNOW I said I usually don't go for younger women... but I will totally make an exception here.
