Worf Speaks to Church About Being Bullied as a Kid

Wow, I never knew. No wonder Dorn was always so good as channeling a man who stands for what he believes in no matter the cost.

I was wondering just how the heck Michael Dorn found the time to become a school district police chief. I mean, all famous actors have their quirky hobbies, but that's pretty serious :)

That caught me off guard. Whether or not it refers to Michael “Worf” Dorn, the name adds an extra layer of depth.

Oh well.... this Michael Dorn is doing some good in the world by telling his story... kudos to him. Down with Bullying and all that. :)

Oh sure, the Michael Dorn in the article sounds like a pretty outstanding guy himself. But c'mon, it's great reading the same article with Worf's voice in your head :)

Nobody bullies Worf! Whenever that happens to him, regimes crumble (See: The Klingon Civil War, the Death of Gowron, the Death of Weyoun in front of Damar, etc... y'know who made fun of Worf's stash of prune juice? Mubarak.)

I read this thread, smiled a bit, and two days later, I happened to be flipping through the phone book, and dang if there wasn't yet another Dorn listed! I forgot to check and see if it happened to be a Michael, but like Valeris, I'd assumed it was a fairly unusual name, and I still think it is. But not so unusual that it couldn't be found it a pretty small city.

So, in the end, neither Worf nor the Star Trek actor Michael Dorn spoke to a church about being bullied as a kid? Was it all a trap, a ruse?

I could be wrong about this, but Best Thread Evar! :D

"Bullies... are without honor." - Worf

I was looking for Worf himself, talking to a church. Then it's Michael Dorn, then the wrong one. I want my money back. Though . . .

I'd pay to hear Worf talk to a church.

Or a Michael Gorn.

It's a nice, good and woody name, is Dorn. DOOOOOOOORRRRRRN.
Not like Spiner or Sirtis... dreadful TINNY sort of name! ;)

Not really. It's a rather unique, well-known name, and it was logical to assume that the two are one and the same.
As of the 2000 census, there were 11,668 people in the U.S. with the last name Dorn, but only 154 named Michael Dorn. So the mistake is understandable.

My maternal grandmother was born Anne Dorn, but AFAIK, there are no actors on that side of the family. And definitely no Presbyterians. We’re Jewish.
