Superman (casting, rumors, pix till release)

Since he's been up for practically every role, maybe one day he'll reach the internet fandom level of Bruce Campbell and Nathan Fillion where people offer up Henry Cavill for every possible role that opens up.

I hope he at least got some decent cash out of the first McG casting. I doubt he got anything out of being a finalist for the other roles.

Why would he get cash simply for auditioning? He's not like a big name who can get a 'pay or play' deal? You don't get paid for applying for a job.

@Out of My Vulcan Mind...these are just personal suggestions, re: Rose Bryne, Emmy Rossum, and Oliva Wilde. They're not in official or even rumored contention.
Yes, I realize that. Not sure why you think otherwise.

Wilde (and her character) took a leave from the series to accommodate her movie commitments. She's been temporarily replaced by Amber Tamblyn, but she's still listed as a regular.
Ah, I see. Thanks for that.

Don't know much about Biel, but from what I recall of her, I don't see her as a Lois candidate.

I thought McAdams was reasonably good but not great in Sherlock Holmes. I could see her or Wilde pulling it off moderately well. I could hope for better, but I could live with either of them in the role.

McAdams has come close to comic roles in the past, if I remember correctly; she apparentally was a contender for both Invisible Woman in the Fantastic Four movie (and should be considered again should a 'reboot' be done) and also was considered for Rachel Dawes in Dark Knight.

There's most likely going to be a backlash from fans on the suit anyways. There always is with comic book movie costumes. This film will be no exception. I liked the Returns suit as well. They used it at the start of Geoff Johns Action Comics run. Adam Kubert did a take on it.

Yeah, people can quibble about the colors Singer used (or the size of his S shield), but otherwise I thought he came up with the best solutions possible for updating the costume-- from the leathery-looking cape to the thick plastic shield.

And even the speedo-style shorts are probably the best option available for the "underwear outside the clothes" problem.

He probably wouldn't get anything out of the other situations, but he was technically cast in the McG Superman movie. That means he almost certainly had a contract, which most likely means that he got some money even when the project fell apart.

^ I think Henry has even spoken about his past experience in the development of that project too. I remember an interview someone posted here last year. As for the suit I think it is inevitable to assume that Synder and his art department will do their own take on the suit. I have an open mind.

Open mind, even if it looks like this?

I doubt that would be where they would take it. I had that entire run too lol. Open mind meaning tweaks to the original traditional costume obviously. That's a little drastic. I'm also talking about nothing stupid like Tim Burton's designs.

She's sure got the feisty spunk going for her.

I wouldn't be able to get past the Meg Griffin or Jackie from That 70's Show voice though.
