I really wasn't sold on the "gorgeous redhead" of her performance, myself.

The sister was a bit of alright, but the casting department for this show is quite off book.

Did anyone not like the dorky nurse? LOL
I thought she was cute. Sad to see her die.

And this week's ratings news is good:

When someone like the cute dorky friendly nurse can get killed by the second episode, then all bets are off on a show like this. Sets a pretty dark tone. Unless they pull a No Ordinary Family, where the female cop got killed and it never registered on any of the other characters.

Re: Being Human: "There Goes the Neighborhood, Part 2" - Jan. 24 on Sy

You gotta understand, in a 6 episode season, from the original english script where everythign happened identically... she was on board for a third of a season. Converting to American that could mean that she was on 8 episodes of a network comedy.

plenty more women show up for a while and HORRIBLE things happene to them.

Watched Xathura last night.

"They eat meant"

"What's so bad about that?"

"You're meat."

Wasn't she only in the first episode of series 1? So that would be a 6th of the series. So given this is a 12 episode season she was also on for a 6th of the series.

I don't think that sets an especially dark tone, since she was a secondary character. Now if they had killed the sister, that would have been bad....

Don't go confusing me with facts.

Re: Being Human: "There Goes the Neighborhood, Part 2" - Jan. 24 on Sy

So far this show is a lot better than I thought. But actually I'm more excited about catching series 3 on BBC America next month than following this show. I'll give it a few more episodes. I think Josh the werewolf and the actor who plays him steals the show, as for the other two, well I think that Mitchell the vamp (in US called Aiden) and Annnie the ghost (in the the US called Sally) are cast better and more attractive in the UK version, but I'll see how this version plays out.

Re: Being Human: "There Goes the Neighborhood, Part 2" - Jan. 24 on Sy

I liked ghost girls trippy re-enactment of her death...but I also wonder if there was some foul play involved in her death...hmm.

the vamps are boring me so far. Vamps are always so organized in these types of shows... its getting boring.

Re: Being Human: "There Goes the Neighborhood, Part 2" - Jan. 24 on Sy

^^ I've suspected foul play as well. I think she said she just remembers going to sleep, which is at odds with the fiancee's story.

Well again if it's like the UK version. The fiancee found some sexy underwear Annie had bought for them and he goes off in to a jealous rage believing she was sleeping around fights with her and pushed her down the stairs.

Not quite...
I think (??) you've got that backwards...it was Annie who found some women's lingere that wasn't hers, and confronted him with how it got in their bedroom....then the arguing.

Nope, I only just re-watched it a week or two ago. Definitely the way I said it.

Heh. Well, either way....

Re: Being Human: "There Goes the Neighborhood, Part 2" - Jan. 24 on Sy

Just caught up on both episodes, and I was surprised to find myself enjoying it. I like all three leads, and it's cool to see Mark Pellegrino again. I don't really understand the point of making Aidan so much older than Mitchell, though. I guess World War I isn't "sexy" enough for American TV, or something.

Re: Being Human: "There Goes the Neighborhood, Part 2" - Jan. 24 on Sy

Spielberg did fine in the Indiana Jones Chronicles which is the only media reference other than in Friends when Rachel "guessed" that America fought Mexico in WWI after she saw Joey dressed in a Calvary costume for his movie with Gary Oldman.

America was just sitting on a reasonably insignificant front in the first world war just the way Germany wanted it.

One-night-stand girl turned into a vampire. Got that part right. Can't wait to see where it goes.

Re: Being Human: "There Goes the Neighborhood, Part 2" - Jan. 24 on Sy

Average.

It has its moments, but frankly it's like the whiney Munsters.

Re: Being Human: "There Goes the Neighborhood, Part 2" - Jan. 24 on Sy

Eh---average. I got around to watching both episodes tonight and wasn't too impressed. Nothing about it really caught my attention. It is just the same stuff with vampires, werewolves you see over and over. And the characters aren't sparking with me and the storyline is unfocused with nothing encouraging me to tune in again--there isn't any interesting arcs developing plot-wise.

I doubt I'll stick with it.

How can you say no interesting plots are developing when essentially you've watched the pilot episode and nothing else so far? I can understand saying it's not grabbing you, or you don't like the characters but there's no way you can comment about story arcs and such after watching the pilot.
