SGU CANCELLED!

then how come it wasn't on, during it advertisied time?

I've already watched 2x01 and have 2x02 standing by, it's definitely back for it's second season. Could have been pulled I suppose, but there are no articles about it that I can find.

So, now it's been cancelled; for all we people who never see these things on our tellys, is it worth trying to find on DVD?

he's right I was talking about v.

But back to subject. Since SyFy is turning mainstream media tv, I refuse to watch it. I know that won't matter becuase they will get new mainstream media consumers.

I got sick of all the characters bitching about how their lives sucked.

There, now no one will know if I'm talking about SGU, BSG, or Caprica. :D

Moving to Tuesdays is what caused the show to fail. Fridays is where the show and indeed the franchise flourished. Can't wait for Blood and Chrome.

Was I talking about SGU or Caprica? Honestly, I'm not even sure which I was talking about.

^ Well, it can't have been SGU, since losing nearly half its viewers from premiere to season one finale doesn't fit any definition of "flourishing" that I'm familiar with.

Then you might want to work with marketing people for a few years. If you throw enough bullshit around, even a total loss can be made to seem to be to your advantage.

True. Same can be said about Caprica. However, both the Stargate franchise and BSG flourished on Fridays.

Okay, I've done my part to derail this thread. What the hell was this even about? *Looks at title.* Holy shit, SGU got cancelled? Is this because of Caprica? And what does this mean for Doctor Who? They're never making new Torchwood are they? What do you think the chances are of an Enterprise telemovie? I'm moving the new Futurama. Am I confusing anyone yet?

I've got that covered in my poli sci classes too. ;)

Thats bs. [...]
No, it's not. The show failed in the ratings. Goodbye, show. What would have been "bs" was keeping the show on and losing money. Any executive who made that decision would end up unemployed.

If that were the case at SyFy - nuBSG should have been cancelled after Season 2. (My point - ratings aren't always the final arbiter. nuBSG was kept because a few notable critics kept praising it, and NBC/Universal thought having one 'acclaimed show' - that honestly by the ratings numbers was bleeding viewers each week - was good for the channels image and they were about to start the rebrand to SYFY.)

That said, I see the financial reasons why SG-U was cancelled; but that said, I don't see ANYTHING coming up from the 'brain trust' at SYFY that will be any good. They should just rebrad it 'The Wrestling Network' and be done with it as - from the ratings charts, that's the ONLY SYFY show that gets devcent ratings. :(

BSG had comparable ratings to SGA and SG-1 at the end of its second season. Prestige is nice, but don't be confused by it. SyFy wouldn't have renewed the series if the ratings weren't high enough to justify its continued airing. And when ratings started to fall in the back half of season three, SyFy wasn't confident that they'd be able to renew the series past a fourth season. Thus, it was brought to a conclusion.

I'm confused, and don't have time to read through all of this. Are there some SGU episodes still to air?
