New Tomb Raider

Artemis

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
So? Who's excited? I know I am!

The new tomb raider is a reboot, Lara is 21 years old and it would seem we're in for a more horror-based game this time.

Lara is all bloody and muddy, shorter and with smaller breasts (okay, that's not so important...although I bet some would disagree). :D

GameInformer is covering all the news on the new game and here is the link:

I cautiously optimistic about this. I played the first and third games, have been thinking about picking up one of the more recent ones, since I've heard the last one or two games have improved from the near jump-the-shark games like 'Start of Darkness' or whatever it was.

First of all 21 year old Lara

Second of all I've tried to get into this franchise and never could, always felt like the games were half finished, saying that I do like the original game and might pickup Tomb Raider: Anniversary for the 360

Well, I would approach the word "improved" with caution.

I'd consider myself one of those who think tomb raider was better in its eidos times but yeah, the games have technologically improved.

Anyhoo, Underworld was quite great, actually.

I'll take a look when it comes out. I own the later "Tomb Raider" games but have only played demos of the new Lara Croft one and the Old Tomb Raider 1 to Angel of Darkness.

I rather enjoyed the more recent games (never got into them back in the PS1 days) but then I bought all three relatively recently out of the bargain bins so it was good value for money. Still haven't gotten around to finishing Underworld yet and only recently got the surprisingly good Guardian of Light off of Steam so I'll be in no rush to check out this new one. I find it often pays to just wait and cherry pick the best games at a low price once all the dust settles.
