Hey guys, I know its been like...forever since I posted in this thread (and the whole forum really...I'm awful at keeping up with this stuff) but I'm back with an important mission for us Karl Urban fans.
Entertainment Weekly.com is running a poll for the first annual Underappreciated-Entertainer of the year. Karl has made it to the final 4! Unfortunately he is currently losing by a 2ish%.

OH.... I saw that poll the other day. He was in the final 4... but not the final 2.
Still pretty good. I mean, at least he got the recognition of being listed at all.
The problem with being such a diverse actor, capable of pulling off different looks, characters, and accents/voices so well is that often people don't realize that the actor they like in "Movie A" is the same actor they loved in "Movie X".... so they tend to fall in the cracks. So the fact EW thought to put him in the category is a good thing, I think.

She totally thought this thread was a 184 page heated debate on whether or not Karl is blond or brunet. She also said that 'Karl's fair haired, why don't they all leave it at that?'
I told her otherwise. XD Now she understands that this is just a thread full of squealing fangirls who enjoy talking about Karl Urban. XD

So. In response to the "Blond or Brunet" title of this thread (shocking, I know):
I must confess I have watched "And Soon The Darkness" (ugh, that title).... and Mr. SuitPorn... um... I mean URban, has brunet hair with blond highlights.....
... and he looks quite yummy.
(More and more this man is my porn. It is pathetic. Though I have still not watched Comanche Moon. It's been sitting unopened on my DVD pile for, what, two months or so now?)
Still... every movie I watch, I imagine interviewing him about various character decisions or such.
Call me, Karl.
I promise to be a professional journalist type.
(I actually do write for an AOL-owned website now, writing weekly columns.)
And, when I am interviewing you... and asking to take your pic to accompany the piece.... I promise not to touch you.

I think it is the eyes and hair. But still... I don't think the resemblance is that major. Then again, I sometimes can't tell Jake Gyllenhaal and Toby McGuire apart (in their younger days. Now there is noooooo confusing which one Jake is. Yeah. I said it. I am a cradle robber.)
Came out on DVD a few days after Christmas.
You can find it at Wal-Mart.
I was alerted to it by one of the "Oh my gosh these chicks are thisclose to being stalkers" Fangirl sites.
He looks great. Adds layers and subtleties to the part. Does a great job.
But the movie? Meh. It just needed to go a step further, and it might have been something much better.
I look forward to a discussion once you have seen it.
