I don't need a countdown thread, I know it must be nearly Christmas; my closest friend is disappearing off to sunnier climes tomorrow, and that's usual for him from mid-December until February. Lucky bugger; I don't get to fly somewhere warm until mid-January...
Yeah, OK, true, perhaps I'm being a little grass/otherside about it... and I do prefer staying for Christmas in the UK, so I can't complain too much about that really...
Still, let us live vicariously - where's he going? (I have customers on my paper route who cancel their papers from December through until April because they're heading south for the winter.)
Mauritius. Fortunately he's generous to his friends with the spare room in his place there; hence my nabbing a fortnight or so in January. Cool. It's the best way to survive the cold.
-11 As promised, here's the TNG naitivity scene... Sorry about the quality - I couldn't find the proper camera. It used to make more sense, but I ended up adding more and more to it and so it's a bit of a clusterfudge now. The alien's just a random toy I saw in poundland. Note Riker's authenitic TNG pose .
^ I think I'll need to watch the Star Wars x-mas special right now! Sorry: the "Star Wars Life Day Special" of course...
Last night, my fiancee told me she was a bit worried that I wouldn't buy her anything for Christmas and how it would be sooo lame. Her gifts are sitting on the printer/scanner combo right in front of me right now. I just know that if she saw them, she'd figure out that it isn't the jacket she asked for after picking up the larger package since it's too light to be the jacket she asked for.
It....DOESN'T......exist! though I do remember watching it in 1978...i was 5...it was huge to stay up til ten pm!
Your fiancee needs to calm down a bit For myself, I've reached that stage (as I do every year) of realising it's now far too late to get parcels sent overseas so they might as well just wait until January to go.
Well... there's this crack in my bedroom wall... sometimes things fall out of it... things like future copies of the Encyclopaedia Galactica and ancient data-carrying media like VHS-tapes... and socks -you wouldn't believe how many non-pairable socks I have
I mailed the one and only Christmas card I'll be sending--to the aunt in Oklahoma that no one in the family likes. And I mean NO ONE. They hate her guts, and for good reason. She's a fairly unpleasant and ignorant woman. But, for some reason, she's always liked me and sent me fantastic gifts for graduation and my wedding. So I send her a card at Christmas or New Year's, because she always sends one to me, and she also apparently bitches out all the other relatives over the phone because they don't send her cards. I also loaded some TSO on my MP3 player, to get more in the holiday spirit. It's hard to have lots of holiday spirit when no one else around does. *sigh*
funny, I normally have to negotiate with the evil dust bunnies under my bed for the release of my wayward socks
