Christmas in Star Trek???

Christmas is already a mostly secular event, and only likely to get more so.

Even if christianity died out, it might not necessarily take christmas with it.

I can imagine the crew of the starship enterprise celebrating christmas. Spock would probably say it was illogical and everyone would laugh at him or something. They'd probably celebrate it in TOS but not in TNG. Well. maybe

Of course, the laughing bit would be at the end of the episode, right before the end credits roll.

Spock says that Christmas traditions are illogical. At the end of the episode, it’s revealed that Spock has done something really nice for Kirk, or for the crew. He denies having been motivated by the spirit of the holiday, professing instead to have been motivated by some more logical reason. Nobody believes him, they laugh, roll credits.

Heaven forbid you actual walk inside, but this Christmas, about mid-morning, drive pass a couple of nearby churches and count the cars.

Seattle seem to have a large number of local Pagans, the winter solstice is coming up on the 21st (3:38 PM here) and there likely be a hoopla.

I honestly don't understand Christmas-only church-goers. If you don't go to church the rest of the year, why are you bothering on Christmas?

^ Well Christmas does have the obvious special significances to Christians. I wasn't implying that it the only day people go to church (although that is the case with some), but if you want to know the full number of a church's congregation, late Christmas morning is the time to see it.

^That's funny, when I was growing up (until I reached the age of reason) we went to church every sunday, but never on christmas. lol

I can say though that on Easter it was always PACKED.
