Last night I made a corned beef brisket dinner. I always have a lot of leftover stock (even after I make a gravy for it) so this time I used it to make my own minestrone soup

This was SO GOOD - I've had my share of minestrone soups, restaurant, home-made, and from a can, and this is by far the best minestrone I've ever had. :bolian:

Last night, all we had were some burgers that I cooked up on my cast-iron skillet, but there's a pork butt steak sitting in the crock pot right now with potatoes, onions and green peppers. Can't wait for that to be finished.

Ruti, keema, aloo posto, and rice. Translations courtesy of the internet make that ... an unleavened flatbread, a minced meat dish, potatoes cooked in a poppy seed paste, and ... rice. :p

Last night, I had a wonderful dinner at one of my city's best steakhouses. Started with an Alaskan King Crab chowder, had a salad with buttermilk ranch dressing, chopped tomatoes, and crispy bacon. Then on to the entree of a 24oz. bone-in ribeye topped with onions and peppers. For sides, a truffle creamed corn, and a potato pancetta au gratin. For dessert, I split a creme brulee with my dining party.

The best part? It was, unexpectedly, FREE. When we were sat, we were asked if we wanted to sit near my wife's boss and his party. We had no idea he would be there, it was just a random coincidence. After saying hello to them, we were floored at the end of the evening to find that he paid the entire bill. And I'm talking about a $250 bill here. He said it was a Christmas present to us. She has the best boss ever! :)

    ^Congrats! That's really nice.
I skipped dinner last night. Was to busy yelling at my boyfriend for beeing a jerk. Hungry now...

Last night, I made breaded chicken strips, and then put them over fettuccine with pesto sauce. Came out pretty well, but the pesto sauce was too thick for hubby's liking.

I prepared a nice chili type dip for people that were coming over. The cat immediately jumped straight into it. :(
