First snow of the year

We had us some nationwide train, plane and automobile stopping snowfall and wind the other day (first of the season on this scale)... about a foot of it is still lying about being pretty in certain places -the rest of it is lying around making the rest of the place look dirty.

Well, the snow finally reached my little part of the world overnight and we got a light dusting. Not sure if more is expected; haven't checked the forecast.

Still freezing cold though; had to pop out to post a parcel just after lunch and it looked bright enough so I walked the 10 minutes to the Post Office. That was enough! Not going out again if I can help it...

^ Same here. A wee sprinkling of snow, but very cold. And gas prices just went up as well....

Another reason to stay at home. :)

I got off the phone to my dad a little earlier on. He only lives about 70-ish miles away, but apparently had about a foot of snow compared to a mere icing sugar dusting over here. Usually my microclimate is worse than his, but not this year... so far!

Well I'm supposed to be on the night shift tonight, but walked to work to discover the place was shutting because not enough people could get though.

We're back up 10 degrees this week. Didn't even need a jacket today. I can deal with this.

Looks like we're going to escape further snow here, at least for now. Can't say I'm too sad about that.

No new snow here, but yesterday's snow is today's slippy pavement because of the freezy. According to my family Oop North, there's been so much snow where they are that people can't get into work and the buses aren't running.

The 1st real snow of the season was perfect to test my new cell phone :

And like every year in this country, everyone seem to discover that it might snow in December

Same here. It has already snowed in other parts of the country and we had a few flakes that didn't last long but tonight it's all white outside. I actually like the snow. Today, it was really, really cold, -10° Celsius with a strong, icy wind that went through my clothing an shoes like nothing. I'm supposed to play Schlagball outside on Sunday. Let's see if I go. :)

The first snow of the year was completely washed away by cold rain over the past few days. But it finally snowed again last night. We'll see if this one takes.

Peek-a-boo...
