Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

My subconscious kept bringing up Elizabeth Dennehey (Shelby) as Vale, and for the longest time I couldn't come up with someone else my brain could stick with, but as I was reading Sieze the Fire, I remembered watching the GI Joe movie, and Sienna Miller showed that she can both kick butt and have a softer side.

After having seen Hidden Frontier, I keep imagining Renee Huberstock whenever reading Admiral Nechayev in the novels instead of Natalia Nogulich.

Renee never stuck with my image of Nechayev, mainly because she has this slow and measured way of speaking while Nechayev has always been to me a bit of a fast talker.

Interestingly, I've sort of come to see the woman playing Admiral Rand (Carol Soldo) to be a possibility for Nan Bacco.

Well, the mirror L'Haan was established as one of the Intendant's handmaidens in Warpath, but that's six years after "Crossover," and somehow I doubt Intendant Kira's slaves generally lasted that long, so they're probably not the same handmaidens.

Anyone have any ideas for Lieutenant 'Trys' Chen? I keep picturing her as Michelle Forbes with pointy ears.

It's been a matter of some debate, but the best suggestion I've seen in this thread is Charlene Choi, suggested by JD back in August 2008 (post #1013) and by Epsilon IX this past May (post #1837). The first time she was mentioned, I thought she was "a little too girlish and innocent," but by the second mention, I'd come around. The second best suggestion was Smith Cho, who was Zoe on the Knight Rider revival a couple years back.

Actually, I have a different idea. I'm thinking of Maggie Q who plays Nakita on CW.

No. I like Maggie Q, but she's not right for this particular character. Trys shouldn't be that elegant and serious-looking.

Why are you asking that? Just yesterday, you replied to and quoted a post in which I answered that question. At least, the best answer I'm able to give. I didn't base T'Ryssa on anyone in particular, but the actresses I mentioned above are the ones who come closest to my mental image (of those suggested so far).

Too much holiday. My mistake.
