Romance is not very important for Star Trek and also not often done very well. Or ever. But that doesn't mean that the Spock-Uhura romance can't be an exception. I'm in favor of it and I'm interested to see where they go with it.

They certainly shouldn't drop it now that it's been set up. Of all the regulars that the writers could have thrown Uhura together with, Spock is the only right choice.

All I ask is that there is no love triangle between Spock, Kirk and Uhura.

All I ask is that this doesn't happen. :rommie:
I thought Spock/Uhura was sweet, and dramatically interesting in terms of the general unheimlich-ing of the TOS universe.

Okay I gotta ask, what does "unheimlich-ing" mean?

Not very important to me at all. I much prefer the buddy buddy storylines. They are usually more entertaining in the grand scheme of things IMO.

I like the romance up to a point, they should build on the Spock relationship and how working together affects them but it should NOT be on display while they're on duty. Uhura is a professional officer, not a happy homemaker.

And no, no, NOOOOOOOO :scream: to any further development of a love triangle. Bad enough that Uhura's time will be split between officer and girlfriend as it is, throw in yet another man and you might as well piss any feminist pretensions the character has out the window.

are you kidding? Romance is important not even lord of the rings, harry potter or star wars could escape it.Truth is you need romance in any epic franchise.
Spock and uhura worked well because it was downplayed and yet you could tell they were deeply involved, they say like 2 lines to each other and you get the full gist. Spock/uhura reminds me of the relationship between Aragon and Arwen from lord of the rings (both romances are very mature filled with love and respect, not secret but private)
However I don’t think star trek needs the shitty twilight romance……………no offence to twilight fans
