Jesse Ventura, you don't know a thing!

I once met a nut who ranted and raved about The Evil Banks Who Are Controlling Everything.

I then asked him the obvious question, "Where do you keep your money?" :)

Interestingly enough--say what you will about Glenn Beck, but he once recounted an incident that happened when he met Ventura. Beck ended up being totally weirded out:

As Glenn notes, "Guy's nuts!"

Both of them are. What's the difference?:vulcan:

How this guy EVER became a state governor, I'll never know; all it shows is that North Americans haven't been thinking lately when it comes to politics (re-electing the same GOP morons who drove the country and the economy into the toilet, allowing Stephan Harper to be in power longer than he should be, and now allowing the rise of a Rush Limbaugh-type to the mayorship of Toronto.) he was never a great governor-what makes anybody thing that he knew or knows anything?:vulcan::rolleyes:

Its the same reason why Sarah Palin is popular, its why her daughter is winning a show though she can't dance and the voting is rigged. Its why Christine O'Donnell got some votes, American's are easliy influenced and are into reality tv shows too much because they don't like their own lifes.

And...assuming any of that is true, what does any of that have to do with Ventura?

I have to agree strongly with what others have pointed out earlier. Glenn Beck would not be anywhere near the top of my list as the "go-to person" to help determine who is "nuts" and who is not.

I, too, have some problems with the logic of the old saying, "It takes one to know one". In the case of both of these gentlemen, I think a more appropriate sentiment might be, "When you are a nut, the only place you do not see a nut is in the mirror".

In a related story, I once heard about a guy who was totally weirded out by the fire hydrant outside his apartment building. This was before they took him away so that he could get some help.

Speaking as someone who lived in MN during the "Ventura Administration", yes, he is batshit.
I have no idea why a network would give him a stage in which to show exactly how batshit he is.

Trust me there is no assuming that is true, the point is that people love drama, like reality shows give, people are easily influenced, so when they watch this consipracy show they get to much into it. That why batshit people are famous. They make shows which bring in more batshit viewers.

I guess we have to assume that the network believe that there is an audience out there for this type of "entertainment". I have no interest in "Real Housewives" or "Jersey Shore", but they seem to be pretty popular as venues for people willing to display their odd, bad, and/or crazy behavior! Ventura and Beck are just two more flavors of crazy that I have no appetite for....

Not everyone can find and get out to a genuine circus freak show these days, but the attraction to this sort of stuff has been out there for millennia. Cable has made it easy to see the show without leaving the comfort of your own home!

Point taken, sir. Never underestimate stupid people in large groups.

I WILL say: that explains the audience of The View, who burst out in screaming applause whenever Joyless Behar says or does something stupid for "shocking" effect.

(They did the same thing for Rosie, too. Some things never change....)

But anyway...if you're on the side saying that Glenn is a paranoid nut...it says something that even HE says Ventura is nust.

Actually, considering that that Beck is a paranoid nut (or perhaps that this simply is the role that he chooses to play for his audience on radio and television), "it" says nothing worth considering seriously.

There are others out there who are more reliable and trustworthy sources to weigh in on Ventura's nuttiness. I will consider what they have to say on the subject.

You consider Joy Behar or Rosie O'Donnell shocking, but you swear by everything Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck do.

Rush is no better than a drug addled shock jock and Glenn is a hypocrite.

No need to yell its illogical. :vulcan:

Oh, they are shocking, true--just in a superior way. :p

Rush is no better than a drug addled shock jock

Then one must call Left-wing icon Al Franken that, too. (Addicted to coccaine during his years at SNL. Like Rush, he's not an addict anymore.)

and Glenn is a hypocrite.

Indeed? For calling Ventura "nuts"?

I know I'll regret this, but, by what standard? "Being a bigger asshole = superior shocker", obviously.

Al Franken was at SNL 20 years ago at the very least. By your logic we should also refer to former President Bush as an addict as well, as long we we're bring elected officials into this (and I use the term loosely.)

Indeed? For calling Ventura "nuts"?

No, for pretty much everything else he's declared on air.

I could ask you for your standards, too. ;)

In case you didn't notice...that's my point. Don't accuse Rush of still being a drug addict if we can't accuse Franken.

Indeed? For calling Ventura "nuts"?

No, for pretty much everything else he's declared on air.

 Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure....
