Yes, in a way good-bye to the ENT-TOS-TAS-TOS Movies-NG-DS9-VOY-NG Movies Roddenberry Star Trek, before the J.J.Abrams new Star Trek.
I liked that after Trip’s death scene (hate it, hate it ...) there was the cool scene of Trip with the chef which I loved – and kudos to Bermaga to put the scenes in that order – totally unexpected and shocking.
And I liked the montage also, and Bakula’s voiceover ....
Well, color me crazy, then, because I like Detained, Vanishing Point, and Carpenter Street and would rewatch any of those before putting in TATV.Now we're getting somewhere.'ll bite. Enterprise was killed by the first few episodes of season one and two. Both seasons, with the exception of some clunkers, improved toward the end and the season finales were great.
If the October and November episodes in 2001 and 2002 were of the quality of TATV then we might not have had this episode as the series finale.
Imagine that an evil Q told you he was going to wipe out every last trace of Star Trek except for one Enterprise episode: anyone who picks Terra Nova, Oasis, Detained, Vanishing Point or Carpenter Street (at a minimum) over TATV... well, that'd be crazy talk.![]()
I guess if you obsessively hate Enterprise, you can rationalize the entire series as Riker's holodeck fantasy, a la Tom Paris' Captain Proton.
I can do better than that.
1) All bad ENT episodes are Riker's holodeck fantasies. There was no "Chef" on the real NX-01.
2) All bad TNG episodes are Barclay's holodeck fantasies.
3) All bad VOY episodes are also Barclay's holodeck fantasies.
4) All bad TOS episodes are Bashir and O'Brien's holosuite fantasies.
5) All bad DS9 episodes are Gul Dukat's holosuite fantasies.
Any inconsistencies in continuity, technology, character development, etc. can be explained this way as well.
See how simple it is?![]()
the montage of the TOS, TNG, and ENT Enterprises at the end.
This.
And this is about the ONLY thing that was good about the finale.![]()

I consider "TATV" both an episode of ENT and NG that is a companion to "Pegasus". At least it was a final episode of ENT and not just cancellation without a last episode.

Except the good-bye sucked. As far as I'm concerned, the true valentine to fans and epilogue to "old Trek" is the fan film Star Trek: Of Gods and Men. Although based on TOS, it had bits, bobs and people from every version of Trek (including the new one, come to think of it).
We already have an active TATV-bashing thread. So if you don't have anything nice to say, consider posting there. That is exactly how I see TATV, And thats why I hate it soo very much. It was supposed to be Enterprise's farewell TNG had thiers. I would rather had Enterprise not had a farewell than that piece of crap....
Hardcore Enterprise fans were dismayed at the heavy screen time given to cameos by Riker and Troi, but the point is moot, since there weren't enough of them to keep the show on the air anyway. Zing!
But if everything else actually had to be wiped out, TATV would be the best one to save because then pieces of TOS and TNG can also be salvaged from the wreckage. That's also true for me. I must be crazy then, too.Well, color me crazy, then, because I like Detained, Vanishing Point, and Carpenter Street and would rewatch any of those before putting in TATV.Imagine that an evil Q told you he was going to wipe out every last trace of Star Trek except for one Enterprise episode: anyone who picks Terra Nova, Oasis, Detained, Vanishing Point or Carpenter Street (at a minimum) over TATV... well, that'd be crazy talk.![]()

Except that OGAM was a horrible piece of fanwank written by Melllvar.
TATV was more entertaining and less stupid.

I'd gladly sit though OGAM 100 times before watching TATV again. Yeah it's fanwank (y'know...just like a TNG/ENT crossover is, and most of season four, for that matter), and it was goofy, but it was fun fanwank and enjoyable goofy. TATV was pretty much the producers saying "Fuck you!" to their few remaining loyal fans
