The New Dax - Cooperative Writing DISCUSSION

I love it Tiberius! Both the story and the manip. Splendid! And it shall be added in the pilot.
One thing though, nothing major. But try to add a little movement to the discussions as Rushbo said.

Glad you liked it, Rushbo. Check this out:

Hmm...her face looks...rather long. But I think that's due to "balance". Her hair at the bottom is more "airy" than at the top.

I would recommend, then gving some "air" to her hair at the top...for the purpose of balance.

Other than that...it's actually quite good! She definitely has that Boslic "look" about her person! :techman:

I undertand...but I suppose the more prominent forehead of her "Boslic" makeup makes it look so very different.

Ah, well. We'll see how it turns out. :)

All I did to her hair is change the color, Rushbo. But I will take your suggestion and see what I can do. :)

This is the original pic from the atlantis promo.

btw: guys, i have this present time spy/crime novel i started writing a few weeks ago. anyway i gave it another go yesterday and i'm hoping to finish it this time. i was wondering if you guys wanted to read it, give your input and a few pointers. i was thinking of using it as my final CAE essay.

The story is about Mitchell Parker, a former US army sergeant who was approached by the CIA for some off the books operations. he accepted and was killed. after being burned by an op that went south he went underground. Now in almost six years later, in 2012, he's a rookie police officer in the LAPD under the alias Nicholas Yorkshire. his wife an children still believes that he's dead, something that he regrets every day. but the former IRA men who tried to kill him earlier and belive that he has stolen their money, know about his family, if he approaches them, or contacts them, they would be killed.

Nice concept, mate! :)

I myself am engaging in quite a few writing concepts, myself--mostly for a Creative Writing class I'm taking, but I also have a ton of Trek Fiction concepts in the works, some of which is Fanfic-forum material to come!

Well, here's some teaser for ya....

The one I'm currently working on is:

A '60s-James-Bond-style tale about Julian Bashir--in his "real" life. It's set some months after the break-up with Ezri--some time after the latest relaunch novel, but certainly before the aftermath we were promised.

Much as I hated Ezri leaving him...I figured I might as well make the best of it. *sigh*

Basically, he encounters on Risa a beautiful agent of Starfleet Intelligence who's investigating possible activities of the Orion Syndicate on the pleasure planet. In case you're wondering...yes, there is a reason her investigation is conveniently coincidental with Julian's vacation.

Amid the plot...the emotional arc (one of them, anyway) is Julian struggling to cure his inner conflict over Ezri's leaving him. And, the heroine of the tale has a pretty intense arc of her own.... If reader response to her is good...I'll take it as a green light to another tale I was already writing about her.

She's certainly a different personality than Ezri (somewhat more "passionate" and athletic), but there are many elements that they share--which may be what helps draw Julian to her for this tale....

sounds great man. :techman: i love those spy stories. (might be obvious after reading my idea, though.) hmm, Orion syndicate, spies, Risa and Julian? how can in not turn out great?:)

Yep!

Much as I hated Ezri leaving him...I figured I might as well make the best of it. *sigh*

Namely...he's single again. For a time, of course. ;)

Interestingly enough...when writing it, I make it a point to listen to various music pieces from the Sean-Connery Bond films.

A "non-spoiling spoiler": For my opening "wide shot" over Risa (I basically describe its glamour in Ian-Flemming fasion), I used "Intro Miami" from the Goldfinger soundtrack.

yeah. well, as the Americans are so fond of saying, shit happens. although the chick is not Ezri, i cant wait until you post what that half spy, half doctor has been up too lately.
:)

the Sean Connery films? damn, i love those.

and i'm still hoping that Zero sum games brings the two back together. although, our dear Mr. Mack makes a living of being unpredictable, so i'm not entirely sure which way to lean...

Same here. As I said, I actually created the new girl for another story...but I found I couldn't resist giving her an introduction through the eyes of Our Man Bashir, a gentleman with an affinity for the glamour of all things Bond-ish....

Absolutely. He certainly set the "ideal" for the spy genre, with his establishing the model for James Bond.

Well...the blurb depicts Bashir as having the idea that Sarina is his love. Considering the unpredictabilty of that...it's possible, to top it, he is going to bring him back together with Ezri (why ELSE would he put Julian in the same book with Captain Ezri?).

("Or maybe, that's what...I want you to believe....")

Anyway--I'd suppose my tale would be something akin to a prequel to Julian's work in S.I. It all depends on how you look at it....

Your concepts sound cool, guys...I actually came up with an interesting sci-fi idea the other day...

The protagonist works for a government think tank that keeps a record of all scientific and technological advancement the human race has achieved so far and are influential enough that their ideas are implemented. They discover/build a time machine and send the protagonist ahead...oh 50 years or so to the same think tank and they give him some piece of technology containing the sum of their knowledge 50 years from his time period. He takes that back, gives it to his superiors, and they implement it while sending him ahead another 50 years. When he gets there, the knowledge he brought from the other future has been expanded upon and he takes back even more. Then it's implemented/used again and he goes forward again...and so on and so forth ad nauseaum. Not sure I'll write anything about it and I realize it's riddled with paradoxes but the concept hit me as amusing.

Anyhow, back on track...looking at the two pics, Kelsara definitely looks like her face is longer, probably because of the 'makeup'. I will see what I can do later tonight and hopefully upload something soon. Keep on writing in the meantime, you guys. :)

riddled with paradoxes is an understatement. nonetheless, i'm particularly fond of time travel. i think you should give it a go.

btw, try to use newer pics with Rachel Luttrell. dunno who made the season 1 promos, but they're horrible. try pics from season three or five instead.

Oh, sorry.

See...there's a tradition on the BBS that the more regular patrons temporarily change their avatars and names for the "big" holidays, specifically, Halloween and Christmas.

In this case, you could say it's my "costume". Don't worry. I'll change back once the season's over. ;)

I dunno. I guess...we're just hitting a lul, or something. Honestly--I was wondering the same thing.

Excellent!

I look forward to it! :)
