Too Hot for Sesame Street?

Is the clip too hot for Sesame Street?

When my daughter was watching Sesame Street, they never had hot chicks jogging around in lingerie.

:(
They still don't have that.

Since when does the guest on a show pick their wardrobe? Shouldn't someone on the production crew have said something about the dress ahead of time?
This seems like a situation purposely set up for controversy.
Since there was nothing wrong with the dress there is no reason they should.

Just goes to show: feminism kinda backfired....
:wtf:This has nothing to do with feminism.

Exaggerating for effect, folks.

Let me explain it this way: feminism has established as one of its tenets making getting it through to society's head that Women Are Not To Be Treated As Sex Symbols. All well and good.

Now...because of feminism's influence, the cultural "ideal" woman is made increasingly self-confident as the years go by--by no means a bad thing, per se.

Then it's taken to "less sexually submissive" (again, not necessarily a bad thing)

--which leads to striving for "a greater dominance" over these and other situations

...which leads to "more agressive in matters of life"

...which leads to "more aggressive in sexual matters of life"

--which leads to more and more women acting as...sex symbols...and being proud of it.

Just goes to show what happens when common sense is lost in a movement. Now, this does not mean that all of feminism is like this. I am simply saying that Lady GaGa and other uber-sex-symbols are a direct result of irrational feminism, run amuck.

The Supermarket vs. TV program analogy doesn't make sense. You are forced, or don't have a choice to see what people wear in a Supermarket. But on TV, you do have a choice, and those parents that find this inappropriate for their children will change the channel or turn it off, thus I could see the show losing viewership because of it, and many parents may question showing Sesame Street to their kids in the future if they allow such things to be on there.

It just isn't the right thing for a kids program, sorry.

That's not true. There may be sects of feminists who feel that way but by and large feminists want women to be sexually aggressive like men are allowed to be.

I honestly don’t see what the big deal is. I've seen brides in their wedding gowns showing that much cleavage. People bring children to weddings, don't they? I'd be much more concerned about kids being exposed to that awful, ear-grating song.

Sorry, but I must momentarily go into proofreader mode. A tenant is someone who pays rent to use property owned by another. I assume you mean “tenets.”
Uber-sex symbols? That's a laugh.
Lady Gaga is about as sexy as a high colonic.

The problem is its intended audience, its a kids program for crying out loud.

Remember when kids shows use to be, I dunno... good?

So, what? It's wrong for women to embrace and be proud of their sexuality? Last time I checked, they're just as human as men are.

Oh, and as for the dress? I don't see any problem with it at all. People are overreacting, as usual.

That's highly subjective. So the children see some cleavage. They'll be scarred for life? Or is this one of those situations the parents see it, assume the kids will see it the same way and go overboard? I'm leaning towards the latter. Kids don't sexualize everything/one in the same way adults do. Kids don't even really have a concept of what sex or sexuality is. They might emulate it or have a basic instinctual knowledge but they're surely not sexual beings despite all the hysteria otherwise over something as unimportant as this.

Oh fuck I clicked the wrong one. Subtract a "Yes" vote and add it to the "No" column.

And no, it's not too hot. It's silly and a bit amusing, but I see nothing worng with it at all.
Katy Perry can never wear anything too revealing for my tastes.
Amen to that! Someone once described Katy Perry as "if someone put Zooey Deschanel's face on a porn stars body". And I see nothing wrong in this statement! Except for the fact that I'm pretty sure Katy's breasts are real.

Speaking of odd Sesame Street clips though...

Kids are ignorant, you are right... this is where the adults need to step in and show a better example.

Anyway, its all moot, I disagree with it, but have no control over what gets aired on Sesame Street. All I can do is voice my opinion on a message board that no one that produces Sesame Street will ever see.

Many of the children that watch Sesame Street probably have a mother who is breastfeeding one of the younger child's siblings, or else have seen friends/relatives of their parents breastfeeding.

Sesame Street has shown both Maria and Buffy breastfeeding babies and as a result probably, quite sensibly, think that that is what breasts are for.
