Just a reminder that this show is starting. And if it keeps people's interest on this board, would someone like to take over the episode thread duties?

Hope this is good. And hope its nothing like that god awlful 4400 show that was on USA Network years back.

I'll have to catch it on Hulu as I work most Monday nights, but looking hopefully forward to it...

Still debating if I want to see this. I'm intrigued by whatever this "event" might be, but it looks like MOST of the storytelling is just going to be standard issue drama crap that we've seen in countless other shows: threats to the president, people getting kidnapped, teenagers getting in trouble...

Just doesn't seem like it's going to be worth the effort.

aka 4400. This is my fear too. Wasnt there just a show on about people blacking out an seeing the future or something like that.

If you want to be spoiled... "the event" is the Detroit Lions making the Super Bowl. The show is split up between four groups of people -- a cult who view it as a sign of the apocalypse and want to ensure that the end of days takes place, the U.S. government who suspect that aliens are aiding the Lions for sinister purposes, Detroit fans who are trying to get tickets, and internet fanboys who sit at home day and night commenting about it on message boards.

I've been hovering back and forth on this show. People just seem to want the next 24 or Lost, and I personally don't. I want this show to be on it's own terms, but from what I've been hearing there's going to be a lot of pandering like there was with Flashforward last year. Not sure if it will be worth it.

You may have seen the brunette from this:

I don't think there's any teenagers in it (thankfully). It's a political thriller/character drama/mystery show with some sci-fi elements. It could suck or be great. I know nearly every (and perhaps all) shows that have tried to be the "new" have failed to last more than a season but someone will eventually hit it. It's getting pretty good reviews though so did Flashforward. I think it's always worth giving a chance on something like this because it just might be good.

Gonna tune in for this, sounds interesting enough.

I have a feeling this show will be a hit.

(That is just based on my gut feeling lol - and watching shows hit and miss over the years...)

I'll give the pilot a chance, not much else to watch on Monday anyway.

I take it back, there is a lot more to watch on Monday than I thought there was: Chuck, House, Castle and now The Event... I'll see how the pilot goes.
