Julian disgusted me as a person

Its rude to go off topic in a thread about something different, this thread was meant to be about a specific subject and its simply bad forum etiquette for people to start a huge other argument about something unrelated.

Also, I really liked Nicole DeBoer's performance as Ezri and found Ezri to be a very watchable character. I didn't despise her, I only found it disconcerting that she assumed most of Jadzia's life.
I'm done with this argument as a whole anyway. I've expressed my opinion about how disgusted I was that Julian paired up with another Dax and can accept some people disagree.

^ see? that wast so hard, was it? there are ways if expressing yourself in a civilized manner on the web too. now if you had posted like this from the beginning, nobody would have looked at you like you were a moron. which you obviously aren't. why didnt you come with valid arguments and discussing in the first place instead of simply brushing off everyone opinion? we accepted you opinion and made our own counter-arguments which were all met with a brick wall. exactly what is bad forum etiquette?

Agreed.

Also, You_Will_Fail...a word of advice:

Once you start a thread, it should come as NO SUPRISE if it starts deviating a bit from your intent. That's what happens when people have conversations--online or in person.

If you lose your cool over something as minor as that...all you'll accomplish is the establishment of a general lack of respectability on your part, in the eyes of the other posters.

(Trust me...I know. You'd be suprised at what people can get crazy over, as far as your tone is concerned. Example: I once had a debate with my long-time nemesis Sci [who, BTW, seems to have me on his "Ignore" list now...], and I made the mistake of ending one of my posts with the words "So there". To see him and the...people on his side...react, you'd have thought I'd broken down and exploded like a four-year-old.

Interestingly enough...Sci had actually done worse in the same debate...but when I'd brought it up, they excused it with something along the lines of, "Well...that's different--he's not writing under any pretense of being 'polite'." or something like that. *sigh*)

Bottom line...when you're a recent recruit to the BBS...tread as lightly as possible. Irreverence is a priviledge, which comes with time. ;)

I completely agree. :) For example, one time in my Voyager review thread, some jackass made a completely off-topic insult about another person's avatar, and he was very rude and insulting to that person. That jackass was given a warning for flaming, and later he was banned, thankfully. But then he had the gall to come back a few months later with a new account. Can you believe the nerve of that jackass?

Well you don't have to because that second account was banned, and there has been no proof as of yet that the jackass has returned again.

I honestly have no idea what you are talking about.
I discussed the topic at hand perfectly reasonably and only got annoyed when people began discussing a completely different topic and confusing the thread. Heck, i was absent for like 5 pages. Your comment I don't even...erm, seriously, what? I'll just ignore it.

And I don't see how making a personal insult about a person's avatar is related to what I did, which is writing one sentence that expressed my exasperation over how certain people derailed the thread into being about something else- therefore making it harder to read.

Maybe he's being subtle, this time.

Who knows?

Well...The Bees Know.

(Spooky music: "Oooooooooo--OOOOOOOOO!!! Ooooo--oooooooo--ooooooooooo....")

Maybe we should ask them....

Actually maybe Quark deserves to be on the list too.

He made it clear that that he wanted Ezri almost from the moment she came on the station, and it seemed like mainly because she was formerly Jadzia.

The dialog makes clear he thinks he's getting another chance with her, even though she's Ezri now.

Ah come on man. I always felt sorry for Julian. He fell in love with Jadzia but she never gave him the time of day, and then all of a sudden, Worf comes along and marries her. Not to mention all the other hopeless romantic episode Julian had. While I despise Ezri's character, I was glad he finally got the girl.

Ezri was the perfect girl for him. No one else completed him like she did. (Sarina (allegedly) and the dancer (apparently), kinda came close...)

I think Ezri gets a bad rap a lot of the time. She comes in after Jadzia dies, which a lot of people weren't happy with. Then she turns out to be really young and sort of confused. She's *supposed* to be confused and insecure. There she was having a life on a starship as an assistant counselor, had friends, etc. and boom, one day she's joined with a symbiont she never planned on having. Even if she is a counselor, there is no way she can sort all that symbiont related stuff out in a matter of days or weeks. People seem to have this glorified view of counselors and psychologists like they have life all figured out. I'm in school to become a counselor myself and I can tell you it doesn't work that way.

As for Julian and Ezri together, I've already said I like it. He's matured a lot and has been through the social awkwardness stage so I think he may be a big help to Ezri as she sorts herself out after being joined and all. She also doesn't have Jadzia's attitude which I'm apt to think Julian might have grown weary of in a relationship.

i have to second this. as a fellow psychology student, i completely agree. and the same for the ezri-julian relationship.

Amen...amen...and amen! :techman:

Especially the Julian/Ezri part. Note the classic scene I often bring up, in "Field of Fire", when they're talking by the coffin. He's there for her when she needs him...and when he puts a ressuring hand on her shoulder, she is visibly comforted by it.

And...frankly, I'd say the best counselors and psycologists are those who are willing to admit that they don't have all the answers. It's one of the many reasons I admire James Dobson a LOT more than Sigmund Freud.... (No rotten tomatoes, folks...just my $0.02.)

well, i dont agree with him on everything. but i can safely say that Dobson makes more sense on a bad day that Freud ever did. there will be no trowing of rotten tomatoes here.
