Am I the only one who really likes the Enterprise Theme Song?

Do you like the Enterprise theme song?

The problem for me with that King Arthur one is that it sounds like music from Transformers.
I love the Transformers OST. I don't think it would be a suitable score for a Trek series though ;)

Hans Zimmer and Steve Jablonsky used to work together so I am not surprised their work sounds similar.

But again that cue from King Arthur was a stylistic example. I was not saying that it should be the same piece or a similar piece. I was saying that it needed to be sweeping, bombastic, heroic and epic like the example. Besides, Zimmer's use of percussion is way to heavy for Trek. It also lacks the elegant grace featured in the previous Trek scores.

The Enterprise theme song was truly horrible.

Also: Where were Russia's contributions to spaceflight on the montage? Cold war's over, guys.

I liked the song, especially the season 3/4 version. Not only did I like the song, I understood why they used it and what they were trying to say with the opening montage. I have to say that "Faith of the heart" was a lot better than the intro music used in the previous four series (including TOS). I also never understood all the hate I heard expressed over this theme song; and I'm not referring to those just saying "I don't like it".

Add me to the list of "don't get the hate"...

The lyrics were PERFECT for the theme of the show, and the somewhat innocent tone was stylistically also a good match with humanity taking it's first real baby steps out of the "womb" of Sol.

I do like it. Inspiring is the right word. I thought it was a clever opening for our first space ship, to show the past ships and efforts leading up to the launch of the 1st warp ship. the mirror-mirror opening is great to for that episode.

I like the theme song, even bought the album to Enterprise becauuse of it. But, then I'm a ST nut and like the music from all of the shows and films:bolian:.

Even I like the enterprise theme song it's really quite nice it's just that different people have different tastes and you cannot expect everybody to like the same things you do .

As for the ENT theme song, it had a major flaw - as shatnertage so aptly put it over in the ENT subforum:
I think a lot of the problem is the arrangement--it's just too deliberately inspirational to work as the main theme, which we usually hear after something dramatic just happened in the tease. It totally kills the drama of my favorite tease, "Twilight."
You know, even if I like the theme song, there's a lot of truth to that. Maybe they should have gone with something more dramatic.

Agreed though if I was the producer of ENT, I would of told UPN were going with the Archer theme because I think it is more in the style of Star Trek.

While re-watching ENT I actually reversed my opinion I had back during its original run, I quite dislike the updated theme in season 3 & 4 because it feels like it takes away from the meaning of the song with this quick beat in the middle.

As Russell Watson is supposed to be an opera singer I'm surprised he didn't ruin his voice singing the ENT theme.

I started off with TOS, then I moved to TNG; but when I first heard the ENT theme song, I thought it was an embarassing and repulsive tune. As a matter of fact, I thought no better of the Enterprise series itself; but when I actually took the time to watch Enterprise, I came to love both the series and its theme song, which I think is quite appropriate. It reflects the era, which wasn't supposed to be quite as advanced, as evolved as the later incarnations of trek. Enterprise bridges the gap between modern humanity and Star Trek as we know it, and I think everything about it is special.

Now I think that the song was a perfect choice for the show, the lyrics made sense
'Its been a long road getting from there to here'
I thought and i am not alone shown by the poll results that, it wouldn't be a bad song for any show that like enterprise shows the beginning of something great.
But i didn't like the fact that when the fourth season began it like they put it on fast forward. may have been my ears but thats what i heard.

I was actually happy they did something different with the opening sequence.

Well, admitting I like this song was hard for me at first, seeing as I am a self-proclaimed punk and grunge fan.... but oh well, I had to grow up one day and admit that sometimes I listen to the soundtrack of Titanic. :p

Seriously though, I like the song and I think it fits the show perfectly.

Do I like the song: I don't like it.
Do I like the song as the opening theme: Meh. It's okay.

The human voice is my least favorite instrument. So I'm a rare individual who hates almost anything with lyrics. But this song suits the show well enough, so it's not bad.

I actually liked it before they added that retarded beat in the later seasons. I kept seeing Carlton Banks from "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" doing his "It's not unusual" dance routine when ever the show started after the change.

Bottom line is...I was hoping the theme song was a sign that Trek was growing up past the 80's 90's stuff and becoming more serious and realistic because this was a the closest events in Trek to our time. I think they wasted a perfect opportunity to knock Trek out of the Park on a Home run like shows Smallvile and 24 were doing at the same time.

Hey I liked the song. It could have been better like something in the Contemporary or Alternative Category.

I was thinking something unique like:
Thrice: Red Sky http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNX5f8bwJGs

Or even something Hard but no less RIGHTEOUS
Project 86 KNOW WHAT IT MEANS

I never hated the theme song and appreciated that they were doing something different. I think the music by the Calling in some of the commercials was better though.
