I will probably hold out on the DVD's until previously mentioned series box set comes out next year.

Well if they're adapting Final Crisis then Manheim could appear since the Crime Bible and Intergang played a big part in that story. The other casting news hasn't happened yet I don't think. They mentioned two people for eight and nine last week, just have seen the Arthur news.

Also I'll was going to add but got distracted that I'd almost bet a hundred Federation credits that the writers have forgotten about our friend "The Angel of Vengeance". I looked at her character at almost a proto-Huntress type...I'd like to see her again too.

I would never run a show the way they do SMALLVILLE...kinda sad really.

I'd not run a show like the way they do "Smallville" either which appears to be on the fly without much of a plan...they might have the arc developed but their execution is sorely lacking. Also to be fair our expectations as fans might be too high for them to meet all the time.

BtVS & Angel were ran better...I personally had no problems with BtVS season to season...of course the internet plays a huge part with shows now...more so than the mid 90's to early 2000's.
Fans can't expect all their hopes and dreams to come true with a show...but SMALLVILLE seems to be playing into the "shipper" fanbase now more than it did when Al & Miles were at the helm.

If I had my druthers, I'd rather see Gil Bellows return as Maxwell Lord. I'd certainly rather see him than Bug-Boy!
Joss Whedon is a master and surrounded himself with capable television people and writers whom he trusted to execute the story he wanted. Honestly if you weren't a hardcore fan of "Smallville" like we are would you be able to name one of the writers?
I disagree with regards to the shipper comment...this show has always been focused on the relationships, need I point out Clark/Lana's on again/off-again relationship, most of that was under the watch of Miles and Gough. I tend to think that if the show wasn't on the CW and targeted to a certain demographic then it would be much more mature and be more like a traditional show. For all it's faults "Heroes" I think has managed it's relationships much better than "Smallville" has...I think if it were on another network the relationships and character evolution would be much more significant and mature. Just my two cents on the subject. As you know Jet the maturity level of the characters is one of my biggest beefs on the show. They are supposedly young, established adults yet they act like and talk like they're in high school still.
@Proc...don't be shocked if we hear something about Max this year, afterall the Checkmate arc is far from resolved yet.

With Blue Beetle & Booster Gold...Maxwell Lord is a strong possibility...but the writers said it is too early to comment on Gil Bellows return.

I would be shocked if Max wasn't at least mentioned in that episode...Geoff Johns is writing it after all.
Geoff does seem to like to leave hints of things on the eps he's written, so I tend to think you might be right on this. At least what we'll get from him will be a higher quality than some other eps that we know about (I'm thinking 'Homecoming' for some reason).
