Enterprise (abridged)

I still don’t know what my favorite episode is, but I think I have a new least favorite: Chosen Realm. It felt like a bad TNG episode. (Or maybe like other bad ENT episodes, but I wouldn’t know since I’ve been avoiding most of those with the help of this thread.)

Interestingly, Whill was the only poster who recommended skipping Chosen Realm. Maybe my opinion of it is not shared by the other recommenders and they recommended the episode on its own merits. The other possibility is that the deletion of computer data is going to be significant in future episodes, since I can’t think of anything else in the episode that had anything to do with the Xindi story arc.

I'd say Chosen Realm is one of the weakest episodes of Season 3. I recommended watching it because it's still not bad and it explains why the computer data was deleted. The deletion of the computer data is not really of much significance, but skipping the episode would have left you wondering why it happened. The mythology of the Triannons has some arc significance as well, but it's not something that's necessary to know in order to understand the later events.

I actually didn't have as nearly as bad reaction to it as you. I thought it was an ok episode, and not even the worst of season three. I actually felt the ending of the episode was satisfying poetic justice for the zealous antoagonists of the episode. Their world was destroyed.

However, it is not a great episode and it really has no significance to the Xindi plot which is why I recommended skipping. A lot of episodes of this season feature a recap segment at the beginning to catch you up on important events leading up to episode. I feel that skipping the weaker/less relevant episodes of season three will not impact your enjoyment of the episodes I recommended.

Thanks for posting your reactions to the eps!

Finished! (Well, not quite. I still haven’t watched TATV and I intend to, but I’ve seen all the episodes episodes in the abridgment that matter.)

I want to thank everybody who contributed here. I really enjoyed the series.

For RegFan and anybody else interested in my favorite episode, I think it’s the Augments trilogy.

My favorite moment may have been the end of Terra Prime, with Trip and T’Pol grieving over the death of their child. Ripped my heart out.

I generally don’t like how almost every female cast member in the franchise has a love interest with a male cast member. Chapel and Spock. Ilia and Decker. Crusher and Picard. Troi and Riker. Troi and Worf. Jadzia and Worf. Kira and Odo. Torres and Paris. Seven and Chakotay. NuUhura and NuSpock. Only Sato and Janeway were spared, and Janeway was captain of the ship and married. But despite the overuse of the trope, I loved the T’Pol-Trip relationship. Blalock and Trineer really made it work.
